She waited,
And waited.
But he never came.
She stares out at the sea
Waves teasingly tickle her tiny feet
Silver tears caress her flushed face
And she waits for another couple of days.
Curled up on the warm sand beneath
She cries herself to sleep
For he who vowed to take care of her
For always and forever,
Abandoned her right there.
Her tears had long dried now
And she stumbled back
No more was she to love again.
Shame on he who left her wonder
Cold and alone, overcome by hunger.
The wind soared up her dark shawl,
Tiny droplets soaked her through
Thunder threatened, waves rose majestically
But her eyes were dull, her face white
And she kept on walking
Away, and out of sight.
