Gah, sometime soon! I'm waiting for a guy to pay me the rest of his commish money for a drawing I did, then I'll post that. Then I have some more dream art in the works, and a few sketches needing finished. It's like... so much I don't know what to work on first! Haha, but yeh. I also have a Harry Potter piece in celebration of the last movie coming out, so hopefully I'll have it finished next week-ish.

I've been okay. 3 issues finished with at least 50 pages each. I've improved coloring, learned to mask and I actually have some nice pencils to show off. Healthwise I've just gotten over a severe toothache with no medical insurance. Simply put I suffered through it while applying everything short of toothpulling to get over it. Consquently I lost about 15 pounds cuz I couldn't eat and now feel much better at 210 than I did at 225. Currently I am teaching myself animation. Both toon and 3D! It's frustrating but a lot of fun!!

So how's the animation coming along? Fun or frustrating?

Yah! The dentist...or any doctor for that matter is always a lesson in frustration. The first question they ask isn't, "what's wrong" or "how are you feeling". The first question is "Do you have insurance?" Those that are fighting Obama's medical plan don't seem to realize that insurance for PROFIT is NOT in their favor.
The animation is coming painfully slow. But my idea's are very ambitious for one person to do. All I have to do is look at anime or even our american cartoons and there is literally a hundred people working on just the opening and ending sequences. All I have is Mrs. Warren's youngest son to do the work.
I've gone back to my story arc's which of course take a lot of time. But unless I get a grant (highly unlikely in the current atmosphere of crushing music, art and education for higher corporate profits. Thanks GOP) the animation is put away for now. Still I love what I'm doing. It's a total labor of love.
I'm so glad you got your internet back!! I hope you share what you're doing. It must be wonderful to get paid for doing what you love.

Yes to all these things relating to insurance! I get incredibly frustrated with people talking about it, Augh! Oh well, when I get into the AF Uncle Sam will take care of things lol : )
lol You need some college kids who want the experience to do your work for you! Kidding! But you could always ask around DA to see if there's anyone who'd be willing to collaborate or give you tips while you work! If not, it'll be slow going, but ultimately it'll be your own!
A grant would be nice, did you get one? Unfortunately, you're right. A lot of funding for the arts has been cut. Don't give up though! The economy will pick back up, and you can try again! Heck, by then you might be a pro at animation!
Yeh me too! I'm slowing getting back into drawing and stuff again. It's been a while... for a while I just didn't feel up to it. Now I'm raring to go!

Oh you never fail at replying. You are one of my first friends on D.A. and that means you can never be cut. Besides, why I would give up being able to drop your name? Heck in the second volume (I'm working on the first), you're like a main character.
Good luck with Uncle Sam! I did 4 years, saw the world, made friends, broke hearts, had my heart broken and gained a broader view of the world. Where do you plan on going after your training is complete? Whereever you choose, I hope you got it in writing.
P.S. Are you going to be an officer?
Finding Art grants are like pulling teeth...and there are SOOOO many incredible artists out there. People with native talent who don't even know how incredible they are (Look in a mirror).
I know it can get slow but keep your hand in. You'll be glad you did.

Well, I tried the officer route, but it's so competitive that getting in might take YEARS and YEARS of re-applying. So I'll be going in enlisted, which is fine because I get a chance at being a linguist (my secret life goal). I'd love to go somewhere in Asia. I've heard Japan is nice, but Korea is.... er... yeah. What about you? What was your career and where did you get to travel to?
I'll bet! Keep at it! Pitch your ideas everywhere, and hopefully someone will bite!
