well, i cheat and go with the ideas i already have/have started >_> none of them are longer than a chapter though. the only one that is is the one i continued in NanoWriMo XD
Although, it HAS been a year from then...so I have new ideas, too

Hehe, that's big of you to admit. xD I'm glad NaNoWriMo inspired you to write a story that's longer than a chapter. 
Me, NaNoWriMo helped me over my perfectionist block. Before that I'd burn myself out editing and rewriting the story only 40 or so manuscript pages in.
I enjoy fiction too, although it tends to lean on sci-fi, fantasy, or horror. I tried the whole realistic fiction stuff, and I can't stand it. It's too easy to go, "And then a bunch of talking penguins came out of spaceships carrying magical girl wands!" >.>

Wow, fashion school! Sweet! I hear you. Sometimes I think of the outfit or the weapon before I think of the character.
Actually, I do have a question. Do you have any tips for designing outfits?

well when i design the outfit i think what the character is going to be
for example if if wanted to draw a goddess i would think of what type of goddess i wanted. so say i choose a water goddess i know she would have a loose fitting outfit, maybe a two piece. the top would be a soft flowing top with maybe a brooch to hold the top in place. then for the skirt i would draw a loose fitting skirt that had a soft flow to it.
i hope that helps.... i usually do a ruff sketch of different kinds of outfits on a seprate piece of paper then i might add the whole outfit or mix them to make a different design.
