open photoshop, make a white canvas(or some other color) knock it down to 50x50 pixels, save as .gif. You have an avatar.

Or make a square saying stop demanding avatars, it's like your own reverse protest in away. though the down side in the end is you would have given in... but then again I'm rambling.
