Hi there!
I have an account but I don't much like this site so I don't upload my art here any more. Maybe if dA ever cleans up its crap, I might start using it for art again.
I'm only still here because I'm the only one with admin access to a group, and I can't transfer it.

wow that was such a critic

I do not, sorry.

I'm probably being too harsh on dA since it's a huge site and it's hard to manage such a site without making some group feel left out. Really, it's not dA itself I have a problem with (though dA has its flaws of course), I just really don't like the community here. It's too big and general for its own good. I prefer smaller, more focused sites. ...sensible category systems help too, haha.

Do you mean the adoptable you've got going now? Adoptables aren't allowed in the group at all, since it's for developed OCs drawn by their creators, and adoptables by definition do not fit that.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tifaine In reply to eishiya [2015-01-17 19:18:28 +0000 UTC]

I drew this character

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

eishiya In reply to Tifaine [2015-01-17 19:20:29 +0000 UTC]

But he's an adoptable, right? That means you're not going to be the one developing his personality and story, and eventually you're not even going to be the one who owns him.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tifaine In reply to eishiya [2015-01-17 19:21:37 +0000 UTC]

Ah yes ok I understood what you're meaning now
No I won't keep him and I won't developing his personality...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

eishiya In reply to Tifaine [2015-01-17 19:26:50 +0000 UTC]

That's why he's not allowed in OCArtists . That group is for those characters that you create, develop, and draw for yourself. So, characters from your comic or other kind of story, original RP characters, etc would be allowed. Adoptables, fan characters, fan art, etc are not.

Ok
Do you know other websites where you can sell drawing because it seems not to work very well here

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

eishiya In reply to Tifaine [2015-01-17 19:30:10 +0000 UTC]

Do you mean commissions, or prints? For non-porn commissions, it seems like dA is the best place, sadly. For prints, there's society6? In all cases though, the site won't really promote you, you have to do that yourself through other means.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tifaine In reply to eishiya [2015-01-17 19:35:46 +0000 UTC]

No I'm not talking about commissions as I don't have the time to do that RL life+comic
I just want to sell adoptables but lots of people told me that they don't have money, or they don't have a paypal account
They don't have money aven for buying points!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

eishiya In reply to Tifaine [2015-01-17 19:48:53 +0000 UTC]

Ah, adoptables are yet another story! dA is still probably the best place for that sort of adoptables, especially if you want actual money for them and not some sort of fake site-specific currency D: It's normal to get people who say they're interested but don't have money, it's their way of encouraging you even though they can't pay or don't want the design themselves. Just keep putting your work out there (not just adoptables, but other types of art too) and getting more people interested in your art, and with time you'll have much better chances at having people who both want the design and have the money to see your offerings.

Good luck! I'm not the best person to ask about adopables since that's something I don't have any interest in, so I've never done it, and I haven't paid much attention to how others do it.

gmsp123 In reply to eishiya [2013-11-09 13:08:40 +0000 UTC]

Sorry bout that. I really don't know what the equivalent of 'hello' is in Old English xD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

eishiya In reply to gmsp123 [2013-11-09 13:42:13 +0000 UTC]

The wording you're using isn't Old English, it's early Modern English, actually. Neither of us would be able to understand Old English without a lot of studying!

There have been many variants of "hello" since the 15th century (and the English you're using is from no earlier than the 16th), but they were typically used when calling out from afar. "Hello" didn't become a popular "normal" greeting until telephones erased the distinction between talking using one's voice (rather than letters) in person and from afar in the 19th century.
In person, I believe one would normally use "good day" or whatever time of day it is. There were some more formal greetings, but this situation does not call for those.

...you have to be careful with me, you never know when you'll end up getting a language/history lesson xP

Actually, I enjoy reading these kinds of things, regardless of my disposition. Heck, I live for the fun of learning.

Sometimes it takes a little provocation to get the info you want from people. In this case,I got it completely out of luck

eishiya In reply to gmsp123 [2013-11-09 17:14:15 +0000 UTC]

That's good to hear.

So what brought you to my dA page in the first place? Surely it wasn't a desire to learn about English greetings.

I was using the Random deviant function of the site, and I pretty much say hi to everyone I pass by as I scout around. I meet a variety of people who have more to show, aside from art, and it's pretty fun

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

eishiya In reply to gmsp123 [2013-11-09 17:29:38 +0000 UTC]

Ooh. That does sound pretty fun. I usually don't talk to people without being prompted to, since they're jerks or aren't around more often than not.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

gmsp123 In reply to eishiya [2013-11-09 17:49:13 +0000 UTC]

Believe me, neither of those are enough reason to pass off the opportunity of meeting those people who will make your day. Jerks come and go, and they are easily forgotten. Neither you nor any inactive deviants won't be missing anything if they're not there for you. Nothing to lose in my opinion

~~~
It's your call though, be seeing ya.
eishiya In reply to LonelyZoner [2013-11-06 02:19:37 +0000 UTC]
What was intimidating about it? Interaction is scary, but I don't see +watching someone as interaction. More like stalking ;D
πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1
LonelyZoner In reply to eishiya [2013-11-06 03:23:17 +0000 UTC]
I guess I felt like since I've spoken to you but didn't really know you well it would be sort of impulsive and degrading to add you (sort of like saying "I'm only adding you because I spoke to you"). I don't know why I make these connections. :/
πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1
eishiya In reply to LonelyZoner [2013-11-06 03:45:55 +0000 UTC]
Ah, I get what you mean. I get a bit like that about following people I know online. "I like their art, but I don't wanna come off as a stalker or look like I feel obligated to follow." And then I just don't follow.
I think the best thing to do is just not care what the other person thinks of you. Chances are, they won't think anything at all.
I apologise if I sounded rude, I did not mean to. I wasn't even annoyed, but I can see how being linked to a previous attempt can appear rude. Again, my apologies.
Shin--chan In reply to eishiya [2012-06-01 13:28:51 +0000 UTC]
It's not about being linked to previous attempt. But disrespesting the nature of my group is rude. I'm an Admin of "Original Manga Artists" group where every member has a folder for his/her comics with the comic's name on it. I was inspired by that group so I started mine a member can submit all his/her comics in one folder under their names.
