Thanks very much!  Yes, I liked him a lot as well, though I have no real idea why.  He's a creepy creeper.  

A lot of the art I posted here, the stuff that involves the blue alien girl, is from a fanfiction I wrote called Nightingale, which is now finished and up here: archiveofourown.org/works/2283…  She's an original character, yes, and she gives our Collector a lot of trouble.

That's really cool. Yeah, del Toro really knows how to pull of flamboyance and creepiness. And I got kinda a pervert feeling from him. But there was something weirdly attractive about him. Ugh I always develop these strange fascinations with the most bizarre characters. I hope he's in GOTG 2! Anyway, good job on the art work. I love the look of the blue alien girl.

Oh yeah, Del Toro is the master of the weird and creepy.  And don't we love it?    The Collector sure did have that perverted space gargoyle, demon Flock of Seagulls thing happening.  Why was there something sexy about that guy?  No idea.  But it's there.  If you liked the girl, I think you'd like the story, and I do hope you check it out!  So happy you liked the art!  Hopefully I'll do more soon.

Yeah, Del Toro completely owned that role! I loved him! But I was really super creeped out about the whole slave thing. Like, his slave Carina killed herself because she was so tormented. What does that say about how disturbing The Collector is? I thought he was gonna be just weird and odd when I saw the Thor 2 post credit scene, not an abusive and perverted creep. But maybe that's just me. I actually read the story and it's really well written! Good job on the writing and the artwork. I wish there was more art of him and some of the other minor characters in GOTG. But your's is very good.

Yeah, it certainly hints at there being something about him that's pretty dark -- although for me, the scene on Guardians said a lot about Carina and her desperation or her ignorance as well.  She didn't know or care how powerful the stone was, she just thought it would make HER powerful.  But yes, he is a creepy creep.

That's an interesting way of looking at it the scene, but then when she said "I will no longer be your slave!" it kinda made the audience see what kind of man (or alien) Tivan is. Do you think you'll do more art of the Collector? It's very good.

I'm thinking about it, yeah!  I'm working right now on a short comic scene with him in it, and someone issued me a color palette challenge for a portrait of him, so I have some work ahead of me, on top of all the other junk I do.  Thanks so much for the great feedback!  It's so nice to know someone likes the silly stuff I do!

You're very welcome. I only just started getting interested in The Collector a little while ago. It happens all the time with me. Out of nowhere, I develop these obsessions with characters who are super weird or evil. Or they're minor characters who only have a few scenes. It's nice to see fan art of background characters, even if it's only a few pictures. I've seen some pretty good GOTG art with the Collector, including yours!
