You're very welcome, and a lot of illustrators have said the same thing about his face, that it's a real challenge to get him just right...and I agree! He looked like magic in that role, at least for the first two seasons...that's the beauty of Hollywood: between the wigs, the hair extensions, the make-up and the lighting...with filmmaking art meets commerce, and nothing does it better than Hollywood, that's for sure!

Your drawing is just stunning, absolutely stunning...you really "nailed" the Kirk personality, spot-on, just perfect!

Thank you veeeeery much J.M. Would you believe that was my third attempt? I drew it not long ago didn't like the results - my brother didn't either - so I erased it. Drew something else. Started it up again and it fell short so I started it up a third time and got most of it was right. Still had a bit of trouble with the eye( my brother pointed out certain things he didn't like either. But I fixed the one thing that was pointed out by a fellow Devaint from Canada and I had to agree. But I'm glad the way it turned out. I might attempt to illustrate a scene of him walking the down the hall without his shirt on! LOL! I"m SURE he did that in one episode with only a towel around his neck. Only Kirk!

You're right about that lighting from the old Trek. I loved it........it was so theatrical. A lot of strategic shadows to create drama and mood. And yes.....hehehe...he lost a bit of lustre in the third season but for the most part he still looked pretty good.

That would be the episode titled "The Corbomite Maneuver"...one of my faves, for obvious reasons!

And you're welcome, I love to look at good drawings, wnderful drawings, and yours is one of the best I've come across in a long, long time! A real treat for the eyes!

That is a terrific episode. He was in his prime in that one. Been a while since I saw that one too. Ya got me itchin to watch it now!

Again, thank very much for your generous comments. I'm not sure what image I will do next. Or from what episode. I usually go for my favorite moments from Trek to get inspired. It is a wonderful show and I know it gets knocked in some circles but the quality of writing and characterization in most of those epsiodes is such quality.
And Kirk is hard to get right most of the time.

Actually, I just got in mind what I'm going to draw!!

Star Trek will always and everywhere remain the prototype for "adult sci-fi", i.e., science fiction entertainment that emphasizes character development and storyline over special FX and space cowboys...which may be why it continues to endure to this day! Of course, I'm a huge TOS shipper, so don't go by my humble opinion!
