ok, so a 50mm around 1.5f, but what kind? any suggestions on that price range you said?
i'm pretty familiar with the terms, but still just messin with the settings i guess. i know what they MEAN, i just have to learn how to apply them. the fully manual style is still pretty new to me here.

i was readin the forums and you said you have the rebel xti and shoot in low light situations a lot? any tips? i just got the xti as well and am havin some trouble gettin good shots in low lighting.

dude if you had looked at my gallery you would have seen that is not what the question was referring too. tripods are for night landscape shooters. I dont think a tripod would help shoot a band or musician...unless you are using the tripod to knock them out so they would stay still.

Probably you're right on the 1000 others for gig-shooting.
I started myself recently with this nice hobby. I join my brothers band whenever i can and another local band called 'Cloon'.
Don't consider myself good but it goes fairly well.
Other concerts don't go very well yet. 
You 've got a nice gallery, keep it up in 2007.
