That's alright I get out of the Corps in Aug 06. Hopefully I'll be able to attend college at UNC Wilmington but that will have to be after I take my SAT's. what about you when is your enlistment up?

Well I guess you could say I'm some what of a lifer. I really enjoy being in the service. Sure it'll a long and dangerous career, but hell it's just as dangerous to walk down the street some nights here in the states. I hope however that once I get out of school I will put in my packett for OCS or WOC. I figure if I'm gonna stay in I might as well make some money while I'm at it. What are you going to major in at UNCW?

there is nothing wrong with being a lifer. I would be if my body could take the punishment the Marine Corps puts it through. I love the Corps and I feel I will be lost with out it but I know I can't stay in. I'm happy that you have the ability and the ambition for it. I want to major in Psychology and eventually be a Clinical Psychiatrist but there isn't much you can do with a bachelors in Psych and I don't have the money to continue my education with out working. I'm hoping that with the GI bill and maybe a couple grants I can double major in Psych and Criminal Justice. Work as a criminal treatment specialist while I'm still working for my PhD. Some day I will get there I just need to work really hard at it. I don't know if I already asked you but how long have you been in?

I've been in for 5 years this upcoming Feb. Don't worry about being lost without the Corps. You will always have the memories and no matter what happens you will always the pride that 90% of Americans can never have. And in my eyes the uniform never leaves. You can always pick out people who have or are in the service. Once a Marine always a Marine. I wouldn't worry about school neither. is that your first enlistment or second? You're right about the pride and the once a Marine always a Marine thing. I'm probably going to be one of those old women with a bunch of Marine Corps memorabilia all over my walls. I'm sure I will make it it's just the Marine Corps is all I've known and it's pretty scary leaving it. Thank you for the link its very sweet of you. Well depends on how you look at it. I am technically still on my first enlistment, but in order to be able to use the NC TAP money that Gaurdsmen get you have to have 3 years left on your contract. So, I extended my contract, so I could get the money and go to school. Well not to worry, I'll be one of those old geezers sitting in a rocking chair with a couple of grandkids telling them stories that I have told a hundered times about "back in my army days".
