# About me
I live in the lovely town of Chesterfield which is great as its pretty close to the countryside and lots of lovely inspiring landscapes. I took art at A level but then was told I wasn't good enough to get into art college so it was just a hobby for a while, and I worked in a kitchen for 9 years, selling a few pieces, mostly portraits for a bit extra cash. Then in December 2010, after spending a long time working on my first aviation piece 'The Escort', I decided it was something I wanted to pursue fulltime, and there was no way I could concentrate fully on my paintings when I was cooking for 9 hours a day and constantly smelled of onions. Lovely! So I quit work.I work mostly in acrylics though some of my old portraits are pencil and watercolour, and my aim is to become a full member of the Guild of Aviation Artists. It's a long shot as I think there are only about 66 full members. It's going to mean a lot of work and a lot of improvement. But that's the plan. I'd not have been able to do any of what I'm doing without the constant support from my boyfriend Paul, who not only pushes me to do better and inspires me, but, with the exception of the money from the few paintings I've sold this year, also supports us financially as well.

If you want to do a WW2 aircraft over Paris, may I suggest the Bristol Beaufighter that shot up the Gestapo HQ, then flew along the Champs Elysee, and dropped a tricolor. Beaufighters have a lot of visual character and make excellent subjects for artwork.

Hmm. Don't know about the P-51 under the Eiffel Tower. I do know about the 44Sqn Lancaster that tried to lose a flight of Me109s by flying under powerlines. unfortunately, it was a training flight, and the pilots didn't know any better, so they followed the Lanc, in formation, and shot him down. Interestingly, if you ever read a book called The Lost Command, there's an account of Lanc pilot with a conversion unit who was successfully court martialled for flying his plane down Blackpool high street, and underneath Blackpool tower. He must have a lousy officer friend defending him...

Thanks for the FAV's..had several family members that flew with Army Air Corp out of the UK during WWII. Also P-38's out of FOGGIA Italy, P-47's out of Sicily also. I will be trying to do some more aviation drawing projects this winter....with any luck
