wicked nice dock. could you point me in the right direction to go with this in rainmeter. i've tried to do this with desktop x and other programs then saw your dock, so i tried to do what you and neiio did to stich 8 frame together but due to size of the dock and frames wound up with a 5600 px wide anim.png i'm guessing i want to go a different way than animation but i'm very noob so i was hoping to pick your brain for direction.

So I would assume you're trying to create a dock of some sort on Rainmeter with animation effects, but you also said that you want to go a different way than animation so I'm a little confused. What exactly are you trying to create?
5600px is pretty damn HUGE for a png file lol. I'm guessing your dock's width is a little less than 700px, and that you lined it up sideways/horizontally? If so, you know you can also arrange it vertically so that the width of the png file won't need to be more than 700px, right? I'm pretty sure you've seen the png file for neiio's APPOWS2010 but if not, take a look at it and see if that helps.Β

Thank you very much. That's pretty much it. My dock would be going horizontal making a strip animation a bit bigger than a vertical. I made a rough jpeg of the folder dock i want but i'm too much of a noob to be able to add it in this post. (could only find the emo icons etc to add media...) but i also thought there might be a way to do this with 6Β discreet buttons/objects of some type that expand out of one button (open/close button) and have the text for each short cut button follow each, with a floating hotspot/click area for each one.

Hmm.. I think I would have a better understanding of this whole thing if I could see a picture or something. You said you had a screen capture or a jpeg image of the dock you're talking about? Go to Ge.tt and upload that image (it's really easy to use and you don't have to register or anything). Once you've uploaded it, just copy the link of the image and paste here.
