my mouse is broken so despite me having an ok day up to this point, right now I'm cranky and smashing my mouse on the table.
i tried swearing at it, but its hard plastic cover seems to be cuss-word-protective.

I just finished reading "The Littlest President." I hardly know what to say. It was compelling, witty and terribly sad. For me anyway.
I'll be keeping an eye out for your work in the future ^_^.
By the way, is your favorite game FF3 or FF6? Those titles always get confused. Anyway, I was just curious XD;;.

Brendan, I know you're busy typing up all those chapters...but...come on! Update your journal!
Lots of things to talk about. Maine, Woodstock, whatnot.
Hope things are going well back in Grinnell.

No, it isn't. At least not in that kind of context. I think there are differences, though. In a world of 6 billion individuals, how can there not be? But they're just shifts in perspective, small anomalies that reflect the details of a group's experience, and not the bigger picture. It's kind of like the idea that the first language a person speaks has a lot of influence over how he or she thinks. I read somewhere that there are certain tribes in Africa that don't have words for specific colors. Everything is either light or dark. These are the differences I'm talking about, the kind that are more interesting than overwhelming. The major things are all the same, and maybe that's what should be noticed more than anything else.
People just get scared because we're too attached to our own ideas of how the world should work.

Right. I think Idaho is another one. I don't know if the similarities end there because I've never been to either place. I have a feeling that Iowa and Ohio and everywhere else are more alike than not because people want the same things no matter where you go, and it shows in the lives they make for themselves. This isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I got a postcard from Brendan! Yay! It was great to hear from you. I am doing really well, just got back from a 7-day backpacking/canoeing trip that was really awesome. We had to work really hard and were all pretty worn out each day, but it was still chill nonetheless. I am glad that you are finding Senegal at least somewhat fun. I find myself missing Grinnell too sometimes, but at least I have another group of friends here to spend time with. I am sure that if you were in Australia you wouldn't be missing Grinnell quite so much. Either way I am definitely looking forward to seeing you again soon. Take care of yourself you crazy kid. Enjoy your pixie boots!

Well, basically, the overall piece was about this age, and the corruption about it. Shootings, murders, and others taking place, and then quickly being buried under a bridge somewhere.
And the raspberries represent that which was once beautiful and enjoyable and something that was too perfect to imagine, as opposed to now where shootings go off everywhere, for whatever reason, and in the end, the evidence gets buried under the bridge, hence the laundry metaphor.
Anything else, please ask.
And thanks for the error, I completely missed that.
But it's really great to see you, man, how've you been?
