Yes. You must.

And before I turn to ashes I must see them live... again. Because it was the best night of my life... or at least it´s tied with running into Jónsi in a sushi restaurant and having him wish me happy birthday it´s a pretty close call.

I sincerely hope you get to see them someday!

Wow, that's just unbelievable, a happy Birthday from Jónsi himself. Amazing stuff. And yes thanks for that, it's hard from where I live to be able to see them live anywhere near. Closest call would be Florida in a period where it won't mess up my school. But they didn't tour Florida.

No worries though, they live in my imagination I'd like to ask you a very hard question ... What's your favourite song?

Well here's to hoping they tour again, and come somewhere near both of us!!! Trust me when I say it's more than you would ever expect...

Oh lord.... hahahah. i can't really accurately answer that. I'd like to say Untitled 8 ( popplagið ), but I feel like i'm doing some small injustice to all my other favourites by picking one. It's quite infuriating though because i don't even remember what popp sounded like live... anyway back to the very hard question, some of my other favourites:

ný batterí, gong, svo hljótt, sæglopur, untitled 2 (fyrsta), untitled 6 (e-bow), inní mér syngur vitleysingur, með suð í eyrum, glósóli, flugufrelsarinn, svefn-g-englar... it changes all the time. right now i'm fixated with e-bow... the last two or three minutes kill me (in the best possible way )

wow, that was alot. hah.

so now that you've put me through that torture, I must ask the same of you

Haha I'll be happy to answer that as well

My favourites are defenitely
Flugufrelsarinn, Milano, Godan Daginn, Ny Batteri, Svefn-g-englar, Saeglopur, E-bow, Popplagid, Daudalagid, Heima (both versions), Bium Bium Bumbalo and Danarfregnir og Jardarfarir, Ilgressi and last but not least Hafsol (the Hvarf-Heim version)

And pfft the other ones are lets say 0,001% less better? haha
And yes it surely does change a lot.

And please, do forgive me for not correctly writing the icelandic names and such haha.

Now except for Sigur Ros, what other music do you listen to?

Hahah. i forgive you. i have my keyboard set to Icelandic mode, so hence me being able to create ð and æ and ö and þ ... and etc.

Oh yes, i forgot to mention the Heimas and Bium Bium Bumbalo and Danarfregnir og Jardarfarir. They are all lovely, too. Hafsol is one of my favourites, too especially if its live.

haha you're the only person i've met that actually likes Milanó. You get bonus points for that.

Anyway. well. um. i currently don't listen to much else besides them. haha. I like other Icelandic bands like ólafur Arnalds (love him!), and Jónsi´s boyfriend´s band Parachutes, and I listen to a little Björk.

Besides that, I like radiohead, rammstein (what i listen to most if i'm miraculously not listening to sr), arcade fire, doves, david bowie, david gray, death cab for cutie, kd lang, placebo, puscifer, and.... probably many others i either dont remember or havent discovered yet. im still stuck in the 'addicted to sigur ros' phase.

you? i have the feeling since you asked that question you actually listen to other music :Þ hehe.

by the way, we have to deliver senior speeches in my school a couple weeks from now. im writing mine right now... on them. hahahah. i'm excited to confuse people.

haha Milano is the kind of noisy music that builds up and sooths after that, sort of an up down movement.

Well I've got to say my favourite genre of music is folk, with that meaning artists who play folk music, such as Beirut and the Hawk and a Hacksaw (naming my 2 favourites right there) but also Sufjan Stevens and Andrew Bird. But also meaning traditional folk music of lets say every nation haha. But of course my preference goes to Balkan music, from the Ex-ottoman empire, gypsie music, irish and scandinavian folk suit me well too.

And besides that, I must say almost every other genre is in there, from hip/hop to punk, to jazz, to reggae. Just depends on my mood

And Parachutes is great too. Love the song Grass Leaves haha.

Confuse people? what is it going to be about? I'm actually writing some arguments against the development of technology now for school. We're having discussions in Papiamentu class. (Papiamentu being the language spoken here next to Dutch)

I love sufjan stevens! For the widows in Paradise, For the fatherless in Ypsilanti is a beaaautiful song

i love the folky-ness of illgresi... hence, my signature

hahah wow. i feel boring. and sort of a one-track mind. i tend to do that... get addicted to one artist for a while and then switch. this is my second period of obsession with sr i re-discovered them when the new album came out and i found out they were touring. seeing them changed everything - i can't go a day without hearing something of theirs... hahh. it's sad.

Well, people in my school just dont really understand why i like them... i've tried to explain it to some people... i just say "they're this band from iceland", to spare having to repeat their name six times until they hear it correctly. people in my school don't really listen to foreign music, and they especially don't listen to good music. they're all reeeeallly conservative and un-cultural (that's not a word.... oh well) i'm hoping my speech will enlighten them although, i'm having major issues because the speech is supposed to be 5 minutes. i don't know how i'm going to talk about them for ONLY 5 minutes.
