I have been playing cello for just over 6 years now, and I am a giant nerd when it comes to anything musical.

Well, for the most part, as long as youre active and post art at least once a week (and with your skill) youre bound to be pretty popular.
Youll also want to open up commissions as much as possible, its hard to find artists who are open for commissions
So just register, post some art, and I guarantee you will get some watchers immediately

On FA they normally just use Paypal directly, so its in your hands and etc. FA has no cuts in your funds
