And yes I hated Lapis when she hated Peri in Barn Mates. (Not to mention broke her tape recorder) I was like "Chuck her back in the bloody sea" But I liked her in hit the diamond and same old world.

For realll ;; And when she was like "i don't want anything to do with water" when in the episode RIGHT BEFORE THAT she was messing with water ;; Before Barn Mates I was starting to understand Lapis sort of and saw her as an average, tolerable character. Then she went back to being an insufferable prick to me : /

And you make a valid point in your rant, Lapis did not do anything to earn her redemption. When peridot did. But the reason I like Lapis is her relationship with Steven, otherwise she is everything you state but Steven is like sugar in her coffee it just makes her better. Steven brings out the sweeter side to her. So I label Lapis very bittersweet.

Ah, yes when I watched Lapis and Steven searching for a place for Lapis I saw her as a much better character since she was more open with Steven and she let her gaurd down. Steven does really improve her, I believe it's because he's the only one who's actually helped her/not trapped her anywhere.
Bittersweet is actually a good word to describe her i suppose.
