I was quite impressed with your DA portfolio thing, I didn't know they did that.
Any advice for a recent graduate looking to move into illustration and graphic novels?

The forum man- right here on Deviant Art. Go to the jobs section. There's a lot of rubbish that flows through there but there are also some gems, if your portfolio is up to scratch (use the DA portfolio- it's free) and you've got a decent sales patter then you should be ok. If you get a client- stay in contact every day and try and get stuff done before the deadlines, because after that you'll get the majority of work through referrals. If a job is low paying- try to think of it as being paid a little to practice your art or build your portfolio. You're only worth as much as your worst piece of art.
