laptops are just. well. designed that way.
i learnt this from working in a computer sales store. a big one. basically, if the lifespan is shortened by using cheaper parts, you go buy a new laptop. people come to rely on their technology.
this saddens me. but it paid my wages.

Does anyone know why laptops just seem to... die? This has been troubling me, some people I know have laptops for x number of years, then one day they just won't switch on anymore, just dead.
Why!? Do they have a self destruct mechanism?

I have that same experience with cell-phones. I believe that everything with a re-chargable battery will eventually get to a use-less stage when the battery is completely fucked.
Try taking it into repairs, or testing it with a different battery... that usually is the case...

Just bought Burnout 3 and Star Wars Battlefront for the PS2. Just waiting for my PS2 to be finished with the mod chip install. Will have reviews on them shortly once I can get my online set-up with it.

I am a crazy gamer. I love fps games like UT, Quake, Halo, and Timesplitters. There is just something about hiding somewhere out of sight and sniping someone that aimlessly appears in your view

haha yah man!! I love video Games, of coarse they arent my life, but I grew up playing Video games. Lets see I also like all the old school games like PACMAN!! Megaman heh, he rocks, street fighter is awesome, I love alot of arcade games, Tekken!! w00t!! I was really into the online gaming but havent really been into it lately, I feel you when you say you run into a bunch of assholes, a lot of lil boys, but its even worse if they find out that you are a girl! Haha omg its a trip, So anyway I love fps games the most, like Counter-strike, Battlefield 1942 <--just bought it yesterday!!) Splinter Cell, the second one pandora nights is wicked !! I played it on xbox, Also I have an xbox, I use Xbox live sometimes, its hella fun

Yeah. That's cool, I pretty much like the same stuff. I would like to get Battlefield 1942 for my comp but the graphics card on my laptop can't be changed out, otherwise I have everything else WAY beyond the norm for powering it. Talking about old school games, I got the Megaman collections which have all the Megamans from 1-8 ports on one disk which is great. I have been old school for a week playing it.
