see im thinking about how that would be confusing... but i just don't see it. if i'm commenting happy birthday on your page and you know it isn't your birthday, then obviously it isn't about you. if you're in a friend's house, but another friend is there, and it's their birthday, would you say happy birthday to them? or would you not because everything you say is directed towards the host? see, the answer is obvious. i think you're just overthinking this very simple situation.
