The SchrΓΆdinger's Cat theory is a little hard to understand at first though, but I looked at it and understand it completely. Here is a simpler version:
There is a cat in a box (of course, this would have to be a relatively large box), along with a small radiation emitter and some secured poison.
If one single decaying atom from the radiation emitter is detected by the poison, it will be released, thus killing the cat.
The question is, "Is the cat alive or dead?" This is a 50/50 chance, as there could have been a decayed atom or NO decayed atom emitted during the testing period.
Noone will no this answer unless the box is opened, so until then, the cat is alive and dead at the same time.
That sounds weird, doesn't it? Nothing can be alive and dead at the same time. Simply put, it is EITHER alive or dead until confirmed.
This is used in Portal 2, as Chell is the cat.
