Neat gallery Gillian.
Ever work/play with ink? Doing some brush or pen inking would help you tackle contrast. Even just playing with markers is a good way to start thinking about how to deal with it.

Thank you for the suggestions! I do enjoy using pens/ink, and I've been doing a few projects in school with markers lately, but I definitely need more practice. Check out the picture of Jack Kevorkian that I just uploaded, I would love a critique of that too!
