the aether was p much this infinite invisible force that made it possible for waves of life to travel through space/nothingness
like a completely non quantifiable, endless and omnipresent fluid that no one could ever prove existed and was only theorized as existing
b/c people couldn't explain waves of light moving like they did any other way (and the theory of relativity kinda throws it in the shitter) 

but it is such a blend of magic and science it fucking fascinates me and i kinda like to interpret it as more than a force for moving light and just force that instigates action and motion for everything that is still unexplainable
in a literary sense anyways.
aha. like i love the aether so fucking much just b/c it was so sloppy and improbable 
and it sound like something out fiction, but no people believed in the invisible light moving fluid for a p long time lmao
