My momma used to tell me to eat my vegetables. In retrospect, I wish I would have. Then I would have been as strong a robot artist as yourself. But at least I am still better at dancing the robot! There is an old saying in my country. It goes, "Don't eat the cow before you milk it". That's what your artwork makes me think of.

of course.
in this case, the territory is 'fan art' the map is artistic feedom, it is very easy to get stuck on any thing,so many people fall in love with the territory of something, and lose sight of the map, which constantly expands. now, you obviously have the choice to create whatever you please....so you can ignore my plea completely...
but in my minds eye, fan art is the lowest of lows, paying ohmage to another artist keeps you from becoming your own.

but its simple fun and expression of my admiration for that artist or picture. nothing more. I dont feel i am losing my identity or whatnot. i feel i am expressing myself in the art that displays another artist. and even this access talk about the issue bring drama that is not needed and makes the issue at hand seem bigger or more important then it really is.
I am exploring my artistic demenours... if you checked out my site you would see alot of wallpapers that are aimed at artists but that was mad long ago. and I have moved away from that whole "territory" .... so I am still exploring myself and what I can do or what I am most comfortable with, which right now is: I take the songs that i connect with and input them into my work. and if that happens to mean that its a piece with another artist in it then be it that.
but thanks for your input and i will look into this further... interesting point u brought up and you are right you cannot change the way i do my work but you can influence it.
