I really love this bread of cats. If I could I would get one too. I just love it. You are really lucky to have one.

I loved the breed for a long time. I was extremely lucky to get her. A breeder could not get her sold because she is "defective" since her left eye does not open all the way. I think it makes her so much more adorable!

It does make her more special and more adorable. He is such a darling. My cat doesn't have anything special, she's just fat, but I love her all the same. How old is she?

She is very special and is getting big so fast its amazing!
She was born in Jan so she is only a few months old.
Im sure your cat has a very unique personality which wins you over every time

You are right. She is unique. She is a spoiled 12 year-old fat lazy cat. Other than that she is really loveable and adorable. I say you enjoy her as kitty because when she'll grow up she won't be as "naughty and silly". Mine is very quiet and lazy.Β

aww mine isnt allowed to be spayed for another couple of months and might go into heat soon. I'm not looking forward to the harassment of a cat in heat lol

You should check with your vet if you could spayed her before that. It's what I did to mine and the only problem I have from time to time is that I have to take her to the vet to clean her peri-anal gland. If I don't do that it will break causing her a lot of pain. It only happened once because I didn't took to the vet in time and because she is so fat and she is not an outdoor cat and she can't clean herself very well under her tail it happened. It could happen to some cats not all of them. After you spayed her make sure that you don't give her a lot of food meaning don't let the plait of food for her to eat at her discretion meaning it's what I did to make her fat. LOL. If you have any other questions I'm free to answer them if I know. Β

i wish. she is already 6 months old and not even 5 lbs. He will not spay her before 6-8 lbs. Right now she is tiny and she had a horrible reaction to the first shot she got. I had to wait a full month before giving her the second one. Now she is sick again from the part two of the shot. So we are thinking she is not going to do very well with being put out during the spay. She is going to need to wait until the end of the year. The peri-anal gland is common for a lot of animals. I know a lot of people who have to do that with their animals. As for the food sphynx are supposed to free feed. Every website and owner tells me that so I am not sure I can limit it lol

I spayed mine when she was about 9 or 10 months or so. I've never heard a cat having a horrible reaction to any vaccines. Maybe she's allergic to some kind of ingredients that are in the shots. I'm sorry to hear that she is not feeling so well. I'm sure she will be well again and doing things that make you love her even more. I can't believe that mine too was small when she was 6 months old and now she is a little fat kitty that ha, on her last weighing 26 lbs. Just a little big. But for such a fat cat she is quite active. You'l see that in no time she will be 12 years old.Β

yah they say on forums and such as well as the vet that sphynx are really sensitive to everything. if i change out her litter she starts to sneeze right away for about 3 days. She is also learning to be a bit of a diva so I have no clue which it is. The second shot she has been better with. She just had a little sleepy phase for a little bit but she is better now.Β
that's a huge cat!! Ive never had a cat over 15 lbs but some of my friends have huge cats like that. Im sure she is fat and happy.Β
I am hoping she gets a little bit bigger then 5-6 lbs. Her mom was 8 lbs and her dad 25 so we will see

). I don't think it's just your sphinx kitty that is trying to be a diva because my cat is just a big diva as well. But then again all the family spoiled her to death so I think we made her a bit more of a dive than she was. Until a few months ago I hadn't either, but I was at a cat exposition and I've seen some huge cat, bigger than mine like small dogs like cats. I mean huge and I've seen on the internet that some types of cat are really big. I think that if she is nice and tranquil and behaved than she is allowed to be a little bit of a diva. That's mine. All you have to do is correct her mistakes and punish her when she did something bad and stick to it and in a year or 2 you will have a well behaved diva.

haha lets hope so.Β
I have a lot of dogs in and out of my house and she is always interacting with them. I am thinking she doesnt know she is too much of a cat any more. She always wants to be part of the "pack" and gets very upset when they leave her behind to go outside or anything like that. She is so cute! She will sit there and pout.Β
Your cat sounds adorable!!! I love cats with a lot of personality

)) I know what you mean. My cat doesn't think she is a cat either. I think it has to do with the fact that she hasn't been around other cats so she thinks she is part dog, part human, part diva. My cat gets depress when we leave for a few days away from home. So I understand you. Β I'll try and post a photo of her in the next few days.

That's how Chessya is! I wish we had more time for her. We have to segregate her in the house so she gets 50% of our attention since we have a few dogs that we foster/board that are not great with cats. She is adorable though she knows when its her time so she will call for us.

. I know what you mean. Since we all have to work at least 9 hours a day 5 days a week she spends her time alone. She got use to that, but in theΒ beginningΒ she used to cry by the door a lot of hours. MyΒ neighbors conformed it for us, but now she is used to staying alone a lot of time and when we are home she "demands"Β our entire attention for her alone. I admit she is one spoiled cat, but I love her to death. Β I posted a photo of her on my page here if you want to see her. I have a feeling she will be a lot like my Kitty.

Thank you! In comparison to every cat my cat looks big, besides yours still growing up so wait up. Your cat is really lovely too. I love her too. My breed of cats, rag-dolls, especially the males are really big cats, like huge cats. I've seen them for real in cat exposition and they are huge, like big all over the place big, not fat big but huge all over. Your right. They do make sure that we spoil them. But as long as they are good cats than I think its all right.Β

I love rag-dolls. Thats what I was considering getting before I ended up with my little one. They are wonderful cats! I love how big they get it would be cool to have a huge cat that can smack my dogs around. Instead my little one just tortures them lolΒ

Thank you! She really is as sweet and as loveable as the specialists say about the breed. I think that your pack of dogs is going to have as the alphaΒ Chessya. And I think that she is going to be a fiery leader. I've been watching a little bit of your work and I think it's great. How did you get started?Β

i stated dog training when I was 16 just by word of mouth through my town. Then when my first border collie passed away I got involved with a little rescue group which at the time was just one lady. Now I co-own the rescue and a bunch of dogs come in and out of my house. I have to take photos of the dogs any to have them adopted to wonderful homes so I just started to post everything to deviantart Β
Thank you for watching my work

It's incredible your work, what you do. I wonder if in your country people adopt more dogs than in mine. In my country everyone loves dogs and animal in general but when it comes down to it no is that much of an animal lover.Β
I love your photos and the fact that you sound so passionately about what you do. I look forward to your next works.

Where do you live?Β
In the US we have a lot of adoptions. The pet industry is a multibilllion dollar industry and is growing every year. People are willing to spend a LOT of money on their animals here.

glowarabian In reply to kooshball88 [2013-10-20 19:56:39 +0000 UTC]
I live in Romania. Here the pet industry is not that developed as it is in the US. We have pet stores and maybe a few shelters all over the country, but people don't go to the shelter to adopt a pet. People here are a little bit of hypocrites. They love animal and they want to fight for animal rights but when they have to adopt dogs to save their live for they might be killed within 1 month from the time they have been captured not many really adopt dogs. So ... yeah, thats pretty much how it goes.Β

Yes, thank you. I also love it. I really appreciate all your work. I know it's not easy writing and updating your work. It takes a lot of time and I know it's hard work that you somehow pull it together. I also appreciate that you took time to answer me. My question is regarding your stories: are you part of the scene or you just documented and read a lot? I hope you take no offence in my question.
