I want to see Going Up. How might that be done, exactly?

Who've I animated for? Hehe. Well.. me, myself, and I. For the most part. I haven't really had an oppourtunity to do anything too major... as I have had no time (nor motivation) and my animation table is big and clunky and I have nowhere to set it up... let alone have a little area to work on stuff... though, when I /do/ do something, the end result is usually quite satisfactory.

Yeah, I do kinda hate the 3d stuff XD Hehe. I guess it's like that with most classical animators, even though I'm forcing myself to learn it because of the current job market.

After 2 years at college studying peices of art and crap, I'd be worried if I didn't instinctually start to analyze things. I'm glad that I was able to figure it out accordingly and not make an ass of myself >n_n<;; (Personally, I think those years of college were a waste, cause I really didn't get to do what I wanted to do... which was animate)

And I live in BC, Canada. I'd /love/ to get a DVD with the finished product and your other works. How'd you come up with this perticular film, anyhow? What was your inspiration?

this is an amazingly good work and you fully deserve all the praise you have got from this. I'm interested: did you get any inspiration from an advert by the singapore version of the samaritans, it has a similar style and setting, but the story is different. if not and you're interested to see, note me or sommat. also: i would love to see this animation. how much would you want to send me a dvd (i live in the uk). if you would, note me with how much and i'll send you a cheque.
thanks very much, and well done again.

lol!

I had seen you had left a comment, and I had to wonder if I had written anything... as it turns out, I didn't... but I guess I should XD

I saw the little featured deviation and I went and took a peek at it because the description contained the words 'surreal' and 'horrific'. I wasn't disappointed at all by the script. Infact, I thought it was /quite/ horrific. Especially the part with the dogs. And the numbers painted on the elevators. It has a definate 'Twin Peaks' feel to it. I also love the 'statement' you make (whether concious or subconcious) about the obsession of work and daily routine.. workaholicisim and the entire thought of... business and structuralisim... and how people choose, if subconciously in itself, that of an overly structured and dominant society. But anyhow. I'm rambling.

Good job with the animation! X3 I'm an animator, as well, actually. Though, I'm a classical animator. I'm not as well-versed in stop motion. I'd /love/ to see this film complete, though. Keep working hard!

The workaholicism thing, and how people should break out of that is the main thing I wanted to say with the film. It's really cool to know that some people are getting it.

Where do you live? Maybe I could mail you a DVD with Going Up and my other stuff on it.

All this stuff looks really great and strange and bizarre. I like all the charachers especially the mother and grandfather, the Dad is my least favourite for some reason. I like Max and the little brother but I think the brother needs a mouth thats not as straight. I dont know what these will look like in clay but I like them in photoshop, and await a clay model. I also like the colors!

What's up dude...came across and decided to look around.
You see, if you don't mind...I never said that I thought he didn't use a photo to base his work on.
My point was that HE thought that I used HIS image for mine.
First of all I happened to find his during a bruce lee search and then commented on how wierd it was. i then fave it. I was simply trying to explain to him that I did not. That's all. But the way he came across, man you know. I faved him...and did not use any type of insults or anything...aside from some humor. I know that he used an original photo for his vector. So did I. Anyway I" ll be perusing your gallery.
I'm not trying to gain any friends with this, I simply want to explain my point.
Thanks...

I'm glad I could help with the script. I'm not actually studying film or screen writing as my major. I do that on the side for the fun of it, a few classes here and there for fun. I'm actually majoring in Graphic Design and I'll be done with that in 2 years. I want to go into film as a Storyboard Artist and Art Director. And eventually I want to be making the films, ie. writing them and directing them. I've just been gifted by the grace of God where film making comes natural to me. I've worked with 2 film majors, one whos about 30 and the other whos 50, and they're both amazed at what I can do. And most of what I know just comes from watching awesome directors like Hitchcock, M. Night Shyamalan, Peter Jackson, the good people. And screenwriting I just spent a long time reading books on that. Which all that helped a lot. The best way to learn for me was to just see how other people did it. And form that, I learned. And it comes to me as natural as breathing. I think it helps out a lot to that I'm an artist, it allows me to be very visual at what I do and I can just see and picture everything. But I just thank God, cause He blessed me. Can't waste this talent. And when a thing like this becomes your passion, it makes it so much easier to just do it.

About my second comment. What I ment was During the intro you establish the routine that Max goes through everyday. When you start showing his days passing quickly w/ him doing the same thing each time. Then you show him starting his routine and instead of finding his office, its some peoples apartment. I like'd the line "I must have the wrong building.", but I think if he had believed that he would have put more effort in trieing to leave. Whereas if he was on his way home, he could think he was merely on the wrong floor, and the following evernts would be a more likely, thereby keeping people from thinking this is a dream. It would be easy to hit the wrong floor on an elevator, but to walk into the wrong building and ride all the way up, that would take total lack of attention. Which he might be doing, considering his dailey routine. I hope that makes sense, near the end I think I started confusing myself. I'd say more, but I have to run. . peace

no don't tell us what is in the briefcase, then people would make a decision on what is in the briefcase. If its something they don't like then the whole movie wouldn't be good for them. This is a Walt Disney cartoon. Its not about the underachiever getting the hot girl and saving the town...

Well.. the whole process of the guy on the roof with the kid went by too fast. It didn't seem like he had much thought going on while doing it. He just knew he was going to keep his breifcase. I dunno about you... but if I had to choose between human life and a prized posession, and it came out with the outcome of me keeping the item, I would've thought it through alot. You could write some of the thoughts going through his head, and maybe give us a hint at what's INSIDE of the breifcase that makes it so important. But other than that, and the purposley repetitive storyline, I thought it was pretty good.
