Take your time and wash hands like... pretty much all the time. I redye my hair every 4 or 5 months only, because it takes me 4-5 hours to get it done. Just redid it today and I am so happy with the result.
I'm using directions, too, because they don't damage my hair so badly..

Yeah i usually wear gloves so it's not so much hands but just not being limber enough to reach the spots at the back and accidently blobbing them together!! I do mine quite often because i swim alot and the chlorine wrecks the colour...oooh post a pic of new hair

That's why I have a friend helping me, always. Because I am SO not flexible.
Okay, I hate swimming, so I don't have this problem, but I'm shooting in the rain, sometimes. It's awkward when wearing white clothes, they always get like greenish and redish spots. ;D

Haha i try and avoid any white clothes after dying otherwise i end up with blotches from wet hair and a purple collar which isn't very attractive! Also black sheets/pillows are a godsend for dyed hair.
Awww swimming is fun when it's nice and warm though
Which colour do you find fades most? I always have problems with my blue and green coming out really fast!

Yeah that's probably the best.

Blue and purple. I didn't find a way to make purple stay, but green is awesome now. I just mixed Yellow ("bright daffodil") with Turqouise and "White Toner" which is like a conditioner for colours. My blue is a mixture of turquoise and pruple and it stays pretty long until it fades to a greenish turqoise in the end. (:

I always try and do a light blue (atlantic) and green (apple green) but those are always the worst so recently i've been using really strong dark colours but just mixing them with conditioner to lighten them up a bit....though it's never as vibrant as using the actual colours it does stay longer
My purple is okay but it's the plum colour which isn't as nice as the violet colour which fades real quick.

Atlantic and apple green are known to fade very quickly. I use Turquoise and Spring Green.
Yeah I got the violet one, it fades so quickly, I hate that. But I don't wanna try plum, because I like purple better.
