# About me
Hi there, I'm Lizzy!I am a totally rockin', rainbow haired concert photographer!
I got into shooting local bands a few years ago, and quickly discovered how much I loved it. I am now the lead photographer and editor for www.rock-concert-photography.com . I've covered over 200 shows and festivals, including Rock on the Range, Carolina Rebellion, Rockstar Mayhem and Rockstar Uproar.
On another note, I've also shot a few rockstar weddings.

Β I haven't done concert photography since I started using a camera in college back when I worked for the student council as webmaster/ event photographer 8+ years ago... I didn't even have an SLR then but still managed to get a few decent shots despite the limitations of the cheep sensor in my powershot IS3S. Seeing your work reminds me of how much I enjoyed the challenges of capturing the amazing energy bands put into their shows, the lights, the motion... the mindset for concert photography is pretty unique compared to other subjects and you seem be on a very successful mission to mastering that. Your work is inspirational, making me want to revisit my roots with all I have learned in the past decade (not to mention better equipment).
Thank you for sharing.

He is great! I saw Korn have so far only twice on festivals in the Czech Republic and each time it was a surreal experience. Stage photo is not exactly my cup of tea, the more I am in awe of your photos....! ^^

How did you get into concert photography? Β It's something that I have always enjoyed(such dramatic lighting!), but recently have run into situations where the various venues don't let me in with my camera.

To be honest, it was mostly just a series of fortunate events.
I'm a web designer by day, but always went to tons of concerts and shows around the area as a fan, and of course I took a point and shoot camera with me and got tons of crappy shots. I'd get home, post the photos on Facebook and tag the bands (including opening bands), and it turned out that those smaller bands really appreciate any support, even if it comes in the form of low quality photos... so eventually I'd made friends with most of the local rock bands in my area, and they'd invite me out to take photos and videos. I'd also done some web design for one of the bands, and they ended up booking a show opening for Crossfade (who was a bit more mainstream at the time). By that time, I'd upgraded to a Panasonic GF2 (mirrorless interchangeable lens camera - compact body that can make use of massive lenses). They got me into the show as media, and I was allowed to take photos of Crossfade's set.
A couple weeks later, I got a phone call from Crossfade's manager asking permission to use one of the photos I'd shot from the show as an official desktop background. We arranged a deal that they'd let me have a photo pass to any shows of bands on their label in exchange for use of the photo... and after that, concert photography was pretty much a done deal for me. I got in with Examiner.com, and then wound up onboard with a number of other online publications before starting my own (www.rock-concert-photography.c⦠.
I remember requesting photo passes for bands that weren't under Crossfade's same management company and never getting responses in the beginning. It wasn't until I was actually able to say I was shooting for a particular publication that they would respond... so that is something major to note. It's also a field largely based around who you know and networking... I know a lot of concert photographers out there who will rant and rave about the "newbies" giving away their work for free, or bands posting photos on websites/social media accounts without permission or watermarks. I'd rather not make a fuss over it and just take it as a compliment that they liked the photo enough to share it... but now I'm getting into a whole other ordeal when it comes to concert photos.
Anyway - I know this is super long, but hopefully it's somewhat helpful and feel free to let me know if you have any other questions I might be able to help with. It's a challenging type of photography to get into and requires a lot of passion/dedication, but also very rewarding in the end. Good luck!

Omg your hair is awesome ;-; I want such colors ;w;
I have aquestion you have to first dye it to white (oh I dunno the word for making it blonde, not the coloring but that chemical thingy for that X_X) So how is it that your hair can take so much dying? ;-;
