# About me
Hi!I'm a self-taught artist with a several year long hiatus from drawing behind me. In the end of 2013 I finally picked up the pencil again and I'm slowly getting back. I prefer graphite, colored pencils and watercolour above other media. I would greatly appreciate tips and hints on how to improve my drawings!
I wish to become an illustrator, at least part time. Full time would be wonderful but I also fear having to rely on creativity alone for my part of our family income. So far my list of illustration work is very short, one book cover, one CD cover and this summer - my pride and joy - a childrens book that I've been working on for the last two years. I've learned so much and it wasn't easy. A full time career in another field, and a family with two children under 10 - but I did it and I loved it and I'd do it agan. In fact, I think there is another script waiting for me!
I post sketches and WIPs on Instagram - @ grafithjarta and intend to post finished work here (again!) and use it more as a portfolio!

Hello!
I like your choice of subjects, mythical and somewhat dark and fantasy inspired. I also admire your technical skills, especially with values and composition. I also enjoy that your drawings still look like drawing and that they doesn't turn too photo realistic. I love photo realism but they sometimes become too polished. Your work have kept the charm of the drawing but added realism in some other way that I have no word for.
This is the first time anyone asked me why I want to watch their work and I find I like that you did! I'm going to follow your example in the future in this area!

Yeah i almost always ask my new watchers about that. Every artist show get as much observation info as possible. Artwork is useless if there are no viewers and they are the ones who give you reality check.

Thank you! If you are serious, I have a few questions, like how you created the texture of the skin and the clothes in "Fortunate Son"!

For the clothes, i think i used a 4b pencil. I filled in large sections, then took tissue paper and smudged them. After that, i would go back over the dark areas and make them darker. Then i take a kneaded eraser and dot here and there, lifting out areas to create a weathered look. Keep shading, smudging, darkening, and lifting with kneaded areaser, until you get the look you want. I kinda did the face the same way, just used dif pencils... Hope that helps 😏👍

Oj, tack! Jag har varit lite loj under den senaste tiden, men för mig konst kommer och går i en cykel. Kanske producerar jag mer bilder i framtiden igen

Hoppas det blir mer bilder snart! När jag sitter på engelska tangengbord så brukar jag bara skippa å ä och ö, jag tycker man fattar ganska bra anda vad som ska sta dar vara skandinaviska krumelurer saknas!
