Ugh, Mike's Camera apparently upped their prices months ago but couldn't be bothered to update their website accordingly. I think I know why most other photographers look surprised when i mention i go there. They treated me like I was out to scam them for a few dollars difference in my order total.
Did get my slides back, but unfortunately my flatbed film scanner is dead. Going to send a few of the better looking ones off to scancafe for 4000 dpi scans - should give me some nice 320MP tiff files to play with!

Mike's is expensive as heck, they tend to markup things pretty high. Scancafe is awesome from what I hear, I know that they run promotions quite often on twitter and such

I've been going to Mikes Camera for maybe 9 years, they used to be really reasonable for E6 film (at $1.75/frame) but now they claim it's $2.50 but they still advertise $1.75 on their website so who the fuck knows. The store manager claims that mikescamera.com is six months out of date and that doesn't inspire confidence.
I'll probably take future film to Reed or Boulder Pro Photo - both are more expensive but at the moment the bar is pretty low for bettering Mikes.
I usually do B&W at home and have a BTZS tube system that only needs 2oz of chemistry per sheet. I'm sure that'd be capabale of e6 but it seems like a lot of work :/

wtf they honestly should honor the price that they have on their website.
Reed is awesome, they do great work, there are a few labs around Denver that are really good. I am not sure who all does e6 though, you may have to post on Rocky Mountain Nature Photographers and ask.

Not sure who told you about the wind, but I do like a good sunset
Just got back and i'm utterly exhausted. Spent the day with a bunch of crazy people in jeeps.
Sorry I didn't get to shoot with you again, I felt pulled in a bunch of directions at once.

Sad to hear another person died on Longs though.
I'm on facebook - i added you.
1600 shots?! I knew you were crazy. I came away with about 497 digitals and 8 large format ones. Will hopefully get them processed this week and see if it's been at all worthwhile.

I am dying to see those LF shots from you!

I suppose it's easier when it's not something you get to see often. I can shoot a load of photos when i'm on vacation, but i'm not so motivated to get another middle-of-the-road elk shot.
Hopefully i can drop the film off at Mike's today, they might get it back to me this evening, but I don't think they run E6 every day anymore.
