meant a great deal to me

a mistake, loving someone

of false happiness
and realizing that

even tho you hurt

theres a fragile thread
(of friendship)
that im willing to keep
(away from my heart)

i could let it stay
(or i could let it shatter)

i hate (miss) you
i dont (almost) miss the drive
but what hurts (my heart)
is that you stopped the one thing
(that i loved about you)
only to start again

after i hated you

all flames die,
ashes grow cold.
its nothing but a bitter memory
of a year wasted
loving someone who didnt care,
caring for someone who wanted a rebound.

but we started as friends
and as i get ready to leave
(hopefully to die?)
all for the government, it hurts realize
i (almost) want to be friends again.

and i cant leave in a time of war
(maybe to live, maybe to die)
without at least
saying goodbye.
