Mom says she hates Fyodor Dostoyevsky, she hates Russian literature. They made her read "Crime and Punishment" in high school, centuries ago, she hated it, waste of her life. I'm just being silly It's fun to see mama flip out like this thanks! ^-^

Anyone who hates Dostoevsky obviously didn't read it very carefully.

No one, and I mean no one, else in all of literature has ever written characters so deep and truely human. All his stories (my favorite is the Brother Karamazov) are portraits of the characters which inhabit them. The stories also deal a lot with the nature of morality, and of faith, and of many other issues, but the point isn't the issues, it's how the characters, as different, individual human beings handle them.

Ok, so there isn't much in the way of action in his stories, but action's not always the point. The point is that he can invent fictional characters that resonate so heavily with reality. It's like you know all of them personally, like you've seen them, touched them.

Tolstoy's cool, too. But his stuff really is about morality and faith and virtue. Interesting subjects, but I like characters better.

Art is our memory of love. The most an artist can do through their work is say, let me show you what I have seen, what I have loved, and perhaps you will see it and love it too

thanks hany-khataab. but it's not an action comic. I'm trying to tell a non-action story in a super-heroic setting. He faces action in his life, and that's mentioned... but it's not the focus of the story, because for a super-powerful guy like the hero, the action just isn't difficult. No matter how big and bad I make the bad guy, you know the hero's going to win because he's invulnerable and super-strong.

But what about holding down his job? His marriage? His friendships? Having enough money to keep making those costumes? These are things which his super-powers afford him no help. These are the challenges which are difficult for all of us, and no easier for him. This is the focus and the point of my story.

i guess SHE would be the one we'r looking for

a very talented INKER and Digital colorist

that's her deviant gallery.
[link]

and that's the work that got my eyes on her.
[link]

i don't know if she would be interested haven't talked to her but i will stick to a certain role of LOOKING OVER for a good inker and colorist and the agreements and talks will be from your side. deal?

will keep you updated if i find someone else.

I checked out *rebeccasx, as you requested. She's great, I'll talk to her.

I also talked to FastFood, about inking. His color work's so-so, but I really like his inks.

Actually if you could get a character sketch done, we could send it to the potential inkers and digital painters to see how your styles mesh.

And to think of it, I guess it does make sense that you check out the inkers and colorists, cause you know your own style better than me, and therefore you can see with more clarity what will work.

oh yeah, as I mentioned in my note, "The Hero" #2 is up on my deviant site. Give it a read, it'll show you the kind of direction I'm taking this thing.
