# About me

I started doing digital art in the 90s, using DPaint and Brilliance after borrowing my uncle's Commodore Amiga. Then on the PC I used Adobe Photoshop/ImageReady for various web site design graphics and just general art and design. Over the last 6 years or so, I've been mainly doing free software art and design for projects like KDE, KDE Games, GNOME and general free software themes and customisation. Inkscape and The GIMP are my main tools these days. In the past few years I've more focused on interface design and mock-ups.

Ambiance and Radiance theme for gnome-shell  don't work in Gnome 3.10, graphic artifacts. To Gnome 3.10 everything normally worked. The author, please fix a theme for Gnome 3.10 and classical Gnome 3.10.

Hey, can you do a DIABLO 3 Gnome Shell theme for Gnome 3.10? You should take a deep look at gnome shell again, it largely improved in almost any aspect.

I'm not interested in GNOME-shell any more, the devs have clearly made up their mind that is so work orientated like some sort of office DE and their is no fun or customisation do be had. I was right as well, already features have been removed and stripped out and I find it next to impossible to work with GNOME in that respect and their whole attitude towards the community, I simply cannot support a project that works that way.

Dude, one question, why have you switched from doing themes for Gnome e.g., compatible with XFCE also (Gtk2, Gtk3) to KDE?

Thanks for the insight. Is it not disturbing for you to run a system that is most demanding on resources and run GFX apps on it? Or even games?

half-left In reply to Inoki-Sakaeru [2013-01-15 19:02:42 +0000 UTC]

Nope, I have a Intel Quad-Core, 6Gb Ram, GTX 560 Ti 2GB card so it's fine.

Inoki-Sakaeru In reply to half-left [2013-01-15 19:14:04 +0000 UTC]

Well, on my Toshiba Laptop with 4 GB of RAM, Intel i3 CPU and an integrated graphics chipset I know I would have difficulties running both GFX software and the system itself side by side. The memory consumption would be too great.

imo what they did with Ubuntu Studio was the best option they could ever do. Utilize a desktop with relatively small footprint (XFCE) for the artist to be able to fully utilize software even on weaker machines, while remaining super-highly customizable with a few clicks.

The trouble for me was finding themes for XFCE. Although most Gtk2 and Gtk3 themes work with it, too few good to find and if artists like you move to creating themes for KDE, what else will there be left?

Not sure but I'm happy with KDE4, plenty of themes to do for it and it's probably one of the most customisable desktops out there now. I don't really care about memory footprint, KDE4 has been good in that regard, it just had memory bugs in early versions which made it seem heavy.

Hmm why you suggested the Slave GTK for a DD, but not the original Slave for Win 7? The former comes from, and looks very like the latter.

Sorry mate, my premium membership has expired and I'm already admin in many groups so I can't join as admin anymore. But anyway, thanks for the invite

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

half-left In reply to leoatelier [2012-05-27 13:32:34 +0000 UTC]

It's not admin, all it allows you to do is submit your wallpapers automatically to the group and you don't have to do anything else.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

leoatelier In reply to half-left [2012-05-27 15:12:04 +0000 UTC]

I know, but It seems that contributors are considered admins - because it tells me that im already a member of three or more groups if I accept your invitation.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

half-left In reply to leoatelier [2012-05-27 15:45:53 +0000 UTC]

You don't need to do anything, whatever you submit will just get accepted to the group automatically, that's all.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

leoatelier In reply to half-left [2012-05-27 16:08:03 +0000 UTC]

It seems you didn't understand how this "thing" really works. You are trying to change my role in the group and make me a contributor, am I right? I have received an invitation to join as a contributor in your group, but it doesn't let me accept it because DA will not allow me to be a contributor/co-founder/founder of more than three groups at a time.
Hope its more clearer now
