you are welcome. They are easy to make actually, almost out of any picture. It's all a matter of the colors and envisioning it as a map. I also use Filter Forge plug-in for Photoshop, an indispensable plug in, for me.

I really don't know if there are any tutorials. A place I go to is StockXchng. here is a link to the abstract pics. Find one you like and size as you wish. I make mine the size of my screen. You can maybe use one of the built in plugins or Filters as it's labelled. If you want to see the Filter Forge Plug-In there is a link on my front page. I use it all the time but it makes insane maps.
Also, I have asked some artists here for permission to use their works. Train your left eye to scout for nice colors you'd like to see in your works. Sorry I can't really explain it better.
