You're welcome, Alli! I'm also a bit of an amateur photography myself, and have been doing it as a hobby as well, so I tried to point out some things I'd noticed from taking pictures, as well as from my Media Arts class last year.
Though seriously, a lot of your work is pretty good already, or getting there, so keep it up! : D Photography is definitely something you can do as a hobby-- just get your camera, your roll of film (if applicable), and you're good to go.
If you're up for it, I would totally suggest trying to develop your film yourself in a darkroom, with an enlarger. Getting the film out of the case can kill your nails, sure, but it's a lot of fun developing your photos. :]
