Hey, thanks for the watch.
Although I do draw/upload a variety of stuff, I enjoy drawing trains and landscapes quite a bit, so there definitely will more in the future.

This took a lot longer than I hoped, but as promised, here are your answers (and one question) for the meme you commented on!
1. Tell you what character you remind me of.
I can't really think of a specific character, so let's go with an archetype. You are The Cartographer! Knowledgeable in both physical and political borders, you are a master of making maps and analyzing how the lay of the land can affect politics and military tactics between bordering nations.
2. Name a color you remind me of.
You know that particular shade of brown that you tend to see on old globes and world maps? That's the color you remind me of.
3. Tell you what flavor/smell you remind me of.
The smell of a well-read book- opened countless times by dozens of people, and still offering secrets that no reader has found yet.
4. Tell you what classical element you remind me of.
I'm adding one to the original list this meme came with (Earth, Air, Fire Water, Ash, Metal, Smoke, Lightning, Ice, Life, Death, Sunlight and Moonlight) because none of them quite fit the idea that just came to mind: you remind me of Oil/Ink. The deepest black there is, used to fuel fires in lanterns and in the minds of readers.
5. Ask you a question!
We share common interests in trains and in politics and history, although admittedly your art indicates a deeper interest than mine in both areas. What turned you on to the most common subjects in your art?
6. Tell you something I like about you.
You're excellent at writing believable characters in politically charged situations (200 Years/whatever you're calling it now is still my favorite Myst fanfiction of all time), and I envy your dedication to detail.
7. Give you a nickname (whether you like it or not ).
No matter how many times I see "htilden42", I still think of you as Shinkansen.
8. Name an object that is to my right or left.
A broken phone charger! Made by Samsung, plugs into a standard American AC wall socket, with a USB port on the side. One prong is missing from the AC plug. I plan to examine the workings on the inside as soon as I figure out a way to open it up.
9. Dare you to post this in your Journal!
Do iiiiiit!

Likewise, apologies for taking so long to reply.
1. That actually is a pretty apt description of me, especially in terms of my world-building hobby.
5. That's a very good question.
I think nearly all kids go through a stage where they're interested in trains, I just never grew out of it.
Though, I've gotten a bit more interested in the railway's effect on society and the interaction between government, railways, and the people. Stuff like the Robber Barons of the 19th Century and just how much power they had (they invented time zones! Time zones!) is really fascinating to me.
Connecting that with history, I guess I'm interested in that because of the basic desire to know how things work. It's probably the same thing that causes people to become scientists. Science does fascinate me, and I enjoy reading about how biology, astronomy, geology, and so on work, but I've always been more interested in the "soft" science of how societies and governments work, especially in the context of history.
6. Cool, I'm glad you like that story. I know I've kind of let it die, but I actually am rewriting it very very slowly, and I hope to eventually reupload it.
It's funny that you should mention politics, because the three things that I have/am writing (200 Years, NaNoWriMo novel, and Mysterious Fanfiction of DOOM) all are very political, even though they are completely different in terms of plot and characters. I guess I just have a slight obsession with politics. Well, as they say, everything is politics.
7. I too like Shinkansen better, but on most other forums/websites that I've joined Shinkansen was already taken, so I just sort of defaulted to always using htilden42. You could always call me Shinkatilden.
9. Eh, I'll do the meme eventually. I've got schoolwork stuff right now that requires attention...
