# About me
I've been doodling since I was 5. You'd think for someone who's been in love with graphite and paper, she would have better projects up!I went to college at the Art Institute in Orange County, graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Game Art & Design- but I don't hold a job in my "dream field" yet. I still have a lot of learning to do. For now, I am working on my portfolio while trying to pay the bills! Life has me tied every now and then and I apologize if I am not updating as much as I should or want to.
Please wander into my gallery and tell me what you think. Comments and critiques are always welcome! They help me become a better artist.

Yes creature baby is on the back burner. But after Comic Con, I'll have more time to work on him/her... it.

Do you remember Michael Hansen or Hanson? He was the Typography teacher and was super loud. It was funny when he came to class all covered in paint from tagging all night long. What a character.

Yes, I think I had him for typography too....and I fairly recollect his paint-stained jeans.

There is a guy from Pixar coming to my class tomorrow. He was a former student of my sculpture teacher. He's here on business from San Fran and wanted to stop by and say hi. My teacher wants to me to bring all of my stuff to show him. Looks like Creepy Creature is coming with me

How exciting for you!!! You must fill me in on the fun visit! I'll bet he'll see your potential right away! Have fun and "blind him with your awesomeness!" (gotta love Kung Fu Panda!)

Heck yeah I'm excited.
He does the sculpts for concept art, that will then get scanned into the computer for cleanup and animation. Pure Awesomeness!!!
That was a great movie.

Oh my god! You went to the Art Institute in Orange County? I went there 03-04'... but I never finished. It wasn't really for me. That's when I started working and got off track.

Really? What major were you? My first semester there was in Summer '02. Then it was off and on 'til I finished in '07. I wonder if we ever had shared a class now...hrrmm...

I was Game Art & Design also.
Hmm... but I think that if I had you in one of my classes, I definitely would have remembered you.
Wow... small world.

Yeah, I was the only other Game Art chick. The only girls I remembered in the major with me were Jane, Grace and Erin. It was really out of my comfort zone but then I just got used to it as time went by. Definitely a small world- even on DA!!!

None of those names ring a bell. Did you ever have Christian Nacorda as an instructor? He taught Sculpting for Animation and I believe Life Drawing. He was the one that got me hooked on sculpting.

No, I had two instructors: Life Drawing 1 was with Joe and Life Drawing 2 was with....I forgot his name. My sculpting teacher was a lady, I forgot her name too. Man, I'm bad with names!
But- I was originally in Graphic Design the first year. I switched majors, thanks to Bradbury and Claflin. Emrich was probably the best teacher in Game Art. Had TONS of fun in all of his classes! ...Man, I miss that!

Oh Brad Bradbury! Haha!!! He was funny. He said he was baffled at why his parents would name him Brad... considering his last name. :Þ
Yeah Emrich was the best teacher there.
Oh the memories...

I think every student asked him that on the first day of class. Even I remembered the class asking him that, too. It's sad but...I actually enjoyed doing the in-betweens....

red3183 In reply to idealdreamer [2009-02-14 08:21:03 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I liked the in-betweens too. Not sure why everyone complained about it.
Oh yeah, Congratulations on graduating. Not many people endure the whole program. I remember students dropping like flies. One quarter they are there... and the next gone. I guess I was one of them too. But I did have a personal matter that made it impossible for me to focus on class. Oh well, it was a learning experience.

I know! In-betweens were fun! And boy, did I enjoy Storyboarding!!!
And thanks for the congrats! Btw, I was one of the fallen as well. I thought I wasn't going to go back but felt foolish not to, considering I only needed 2 more semesters to graduate(it stretched out to 3). I had tons of personal drama, explaining my absence as well. Sorry to hear of your past troubles, too. Guess that's life though. It likes to throw curve balls.

red3183 In reply to idealdreamer [2009-02-14 08:52:15 +0000 UTC]
Curve balls... mine was more like a fast ball straight to the face.
But yeah, that's life. Our pasts makes us the who we are today. So I don't think that would go back and change a thing.
I hope your personal drama has been sorted out and that you do land your dream job soon.

That would be too sweet! But- I'm broke so I'll just admire from afar (like, online LOL), but thanks anyway. And really? You're going to get me a Creepy Creature? It feels like a dream! I still can't believe you're sculpting it! Need to pinch myself!

No prob! And actually, I did use Photoshop for that piece. Now that I look back on it, there are so many areas I could have improved on.
