Hi! Yes, I was inactive for quite awhile due to RL issues. I've been back and trying to rededicate myself to art again, but it's been slow going. Things have not been very well for me lately, but I'm still hanging in there. How have you been?

Moving is always stressful. I've moved 3 times in the past 2 years (to an apartment, then a different apartment, and finally last year I moved to Florida), and I hope I don't have to do it again anytime soon. The recover time is definitely forever, haha. Definitely don't feel bad about life keeping you from the drawing; it happens!Β
Prayers are always appreciated; I'll be praying for you as well! 
The comment about society expecting results when treading water is hard enough - totally makes sense! That's how I feel most of the time. Doing normal, everyday things can be such an effort for me. I feel like I've accomplished something just by getting up and making my bed each day.
I'm just trying to get back into the habit of drawing some each day and making it something I look forward to. It went pretty well today! Of course, cleaning off my desk so I actually had room to sit at the desk and draw instead of hunched over on my bed helped!

Family drama is definitely the worst kind. It's a lot harder to escape from. Thankfully things have been pretty good around here since that night. We're all still praying about it.
My poor desk is so tiny. I have such a tiny place so I really have to make the most of what little space I have. It doesn't help that I have no storage space (I'm having to rent a storage facility to keep most of my things in, and when I need something I just have to go over there and get it). I have this little folding tray table that I have all of my art stuff sitting on. When I need something, I fish it out of the precarious pile and either try to use my desk or just sit on the bed to work. I just have to make the best of the situation!

I wasn't really trying to be pessimistic. I just needed to express some bad feelings that had been building up inside me. Writing about it often helps me. A lot of bad things have been happening in my life (illness, a death in the family, money problems, stuff like that). It's been keeping me down. Normally art is a nice way for me to relax and let stress go, but lately I just haven't been able to enjoy art.
However, after I wrote my most recent journal entry, I let go and just drew for fun for the first time in forever. I had forgotten what it was like to enjoy art. It's like I broke through a barrier that had been holding me back, except the only thing that had been holding me back was myself! Anyway, I'm trying to be more positive. Sometimes it just helps me to write about it when I feel bad. Kind of my way of purging those negative feelings.Β
