I would think the journal entry stating "we're going to wipe out our whole group except for three members" is enough proof.

Even if that doesn't seem fake to you, I would hope you'd at least see the cruelty in it. It's up to you if you want to involve yourself with them, but I'm just warning you. I interacted with them for several years and they did a wipe-out of headmates a few times.
