Thank-you for picking through
the buffet.
Can you offer more clues about your work?
Influences...that kind of thing.
But no problem if you don't want to.
I'm just curious.

No problem!
Well it's all stream of consciousness work, I draw what comes instantly to mind, but I'm also aware that the things I draw aren't random and that I'm building a scene through my subconscious. After I'm done it's fun for me to try to figure out what I was trying to tell myself, or express, it always makes sense eventually. And I hope that other's can puzzle as much as I do over it, and maybe find something of their own in my pictures! But as for influences I love South American art, I like the muralists (though I haven't done much research yet!). Artists like Paula Rego come to mind too, I've also always been a fan of medieval art. But really I'm inspired by people, psychology, films, relationships, culture, music (which I listen to while drawing, it can really change the direction of my drawing if I change the track in the middle!), observations I make, religion... It's very broad, I'm like a sponge! Hope this shed some light!

Thanks so much for your very generous response .
I like the fact that your work has an oblique nature to it and can remain
mysterious,cryptic to the viewer as
I find understanding to be overrated.
There are many works
( art,music,literature) that
will have me guessing about their
hidden content, meaning for the rest of my life.
I always hope art remains something of a mystery to me.
Thank you for sharing your influences and the process behind your work very personal and detailed work .

No problem
haha yes understanding is overrated, it's much more interesting to not know, and more intelligent to admit you don't know yet still look. I also hope that art remains a mystery, I can't think of anything more mind-numbingly boring than to understand everything!

I was at the RA of arts looking at the tapestries based on Raphael's
acts of the apostles trying to guess what they were about with a friend before finding out...it is fun to speculate about what something might be and sometimes you come up with
an idea of your own.
Anyhoo...I hope you keep us all guessing with your work.
