# About me

This basically covers 2 things: about myself and about my art, if anyone really wants to know…

ABOUT ME:
Hi. The name is Sam Adams --- yes, just like the beer. By the way, I’m related to Samuel Adams. Anyways, I’m also known as Sammy. And Samer, and Samurai, and Sam-wow, and Salmon-- you get the picture.
There’s not a whole lot that you need to know about me except for just these few things:
• I’m a Cali girl and intend to stay that way, what with living in a surfing town full green vegetarian hippies (and yes, I’m a green vegetarian hippie) that love to surf, skateboard, and smoke pot (though I'm more of a cigar person). And when I mean I’m a green hippie, I mean that I do everything in my power to prevent the suffering of all beings (basically an animal lover) and of the planet-- and trust me, my family does some pretty hard-core stuff to be green.
• I do have various interests other than art, obviously-- doesn’t everybody? I’m very outdoorsy. I enjoy doing everything outside and I don’t mind getting down and dirty. I mean, you kinda need to be okay with that if you’re an avid hiker, backpacker, and climber. I also enjoy other sports like swimming and water polo, but my all-time favorites are skiing (xc, downhill, water, you name it) and scuba diving.
• The last thing, really, is my interest in the world and traveling. I’m an avid traveler, in both luxury and in absolute adventure with nothing but the clothes on my back. In the short years of my life, I’ve been to at least 15 different counties around the world, some of which I’ve visited multiple times (like Mexico ~7x). I’ve also been to 5 of the 7 continents, Australia and Antarctica being ones I have yet to visit. Soon...

ABOUT MY ART:
So, here’s the deal-io about my art: (notice that I love to give them cheesy titles XD)

• MEDIUMS -- I use a wide range of mediums such as pencils, ink pens, oil and acrylic paints, and frosting. Yes, I said frosting-- I also specialize in cake decorating with fondant frosting. I use canvas for most of my paintings, and I have a sketchbook for drawing. I don’t use that often though, for when I’m inspired, I usually grab any scrap of paper to do my work and that becomes my medium.
• TYPES OF WORK:
- Surrealism: When it comes to painting and drawing, I absolutely LOVE surrealism. Almost anything I create, especially ink drawings and paintings, will be of some surrealist element. I use my favorite artist Dalí as my inspiration-- after all, he’s the master of surrealism in my opinion.
- Photography: In photography, I specialize in macro shots of nature, both plants and animals. More so, I really enjoy underwater photography. It’s fairly easy for me to do that kind because I scuba dive often.
- Cakes: I love to work with cake carving and fondant frosting to create uniquely designed and shaped cakes, ranging from simple patterns to cartoon characters. It takes time and lots of patience, which thankfully I have for the most part.
- Jewelry: I enjoy crafting all sorts of jewelry in my spare time, from earrings to necklaces and so forth. My main thing is recycling old charms and beads from other pieces that were broken or had missing pairs, etc. I love creating new from old!
- Fan Art: I don’t do a whole lot of this, but I do have some sketches and ink projects that I’m working on. Most of my work or future work will probably be related to IZ or Transformers, two of my favorite things right now. I’m such a dork, right?
