Just to give everyone a heads up, Jax has passed away. The 10th of August, she died in her sleep. I am sorry for all who, like me, loved her creativity, and inspirational creations. She will deeply be missed.

*grin* One of my favorite forms of art still involves sitting down with a handful of different-colored sharpie markers and a willing person... or with another person willing to draw on ME. Sometime, get ahold of a pen, even a ballpoint, or a paintbrush and just one or two colors of paint, and a friend, and try painting on their hand, or arm, or back, or some such. I think with your style of art you would find a flexable, human-shaped canvas very appropriate, and I think you would enjoy it.

*blushes considerably* Thank you... although I still find it a bit odd that people end up praising m'stuff like that. I've seen too many photomanip'ers with the ability to do things so far beyond me that I couldn't even begin to compare, most of them here at DevArt; I like what I do but I know quite well it's not normally sellable or pitched to appeal to a wide enough range of people to be considered good or useful.

Heh, that is one of the few things I'm proud about - I may not be able to get the level of realism or sheer fantasy that most other photomanipers get, but I do have a style that's pretty unique, even recognizeable. I've been working at it for about eight years now, and I figure another eight and I might have something actually saleable. Which would be nice 'cos I tend to take the whole 'starving artist' thing a bit too literally some months.

*blinks, laughs* Ehh, there are a lot of photomanipers on DevArt who do way better work; I've got a knack for color selection and a decent sense of humor but technically speaking most of my work is pretty lousy (and as someone who has stared at the art for hours while it was being worked on I can't help but notice the errors and they drive me NUTS). *wry grin* Thank you though, it's good to know that the technical flaws aren't being noticed too much!
