i know!! I've been good, busy with the usual: school work and socializing haha. Work has been fun/ a lot of work! I get to do some graphic design work for my mag! (metro.pop)
we should all go to gypsy den and the art opening next month!? that's been long over due!
My teacher said he worked in an office right where american apparel is now back in the day and it was a bad neighborhood then...like with hookers and drug deals going down! crazy how much it's changed i suppose.. haha

I can't remember if the art show is the first of each month or the first Saturday of the month? If it's the saturday im gonna miss it! Im going to Texas for a wedding :/ oy vey
metro.pop is great, my 2D art professor hooked me up with the job last semester, right before summer. His wife is the editor of the mag.
They're letting me layout pages and I just got done creating my 2nd ad! It's so exciting to see my work published! It's definitely been a good taste of the real world doing a bunch of misc things for the mag. I'm debating if graphic work is still what I wanna do atm...idk
How about you, what are you up to these days!? Fullerton right>? Do you like your school for gd? I'm also trying to figure out where the heck to transfer!

gosh that sounds like my dream job right now...i would love to find a job in my field but its so hard to find something that they actually let you design stuff and pays enough to live...yea im at fullerton...i love it there..things are going great i actually just got into the credential program at fullerton for the arts...so i can teach k-12 if i want to and its only going to take like 8 more classes so its totally worth it...i would recommend transfering here...i love it here and we actually have a good graphic design and photo program here... you should come check it out...o and its the first saturday of the month...im working on trying to get at least that day off work so...

i know! I hear ya, how are we gonna make da big cash and do what we enjoy!?? =/ Cool! I def will check Fullerton out. Didn't the art dept. get a huge donation from Disney or something? My brother did the credential program at UCI too! That's so cool you'll be able to teach! smart! I recently met an awesome teacher that is gonna let me do art lessons for her little kidletts, haha cute! You should do it with me! It's in Fullerton toO!! I wish I wasn't outa state this upcoming saturday, other wise i'd totally go this month

hey hey THAILAND!!!! wow! thats awesome? what are u guys going for?! well we're all in Mammoth at the moment and i'm sending this comment to you from a Travellodge prepaid internet computer! its been such a fun trip. i've tried taking some good photos but i just get kinda lazy cuz its sooooo cold and i have to take off my gloves and stuff so i can push the camera button down. i'm gonna try and get some good shots tom but today would have been perfect...bad for me. well i'll prob be back up at school by the time u guys get back but I hope i can hang out w/ you guys soon!! can't wait to see the Thailand pics!

btw, to save the picture you have to convert it back to RGB: Image > Mode > RGB Color... then you can save it

Here's a new way to do B&W:
1. Open your image.
2. Click on Image > Adjustments > Gradient Map
3. Click on the gradient and click on the first gradient under the "presets" section on the top (should be B&W) and hit ok and then ok again.
4. Click on Image > Mode > Grayscale (will have a message about discarding color, hit ok.)
5. Click on Image > Mode > Duotone
6. Under the "Type" drop down, select "Quadtone"
7. Hit the button "Load" on the right and navigate to the directory C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Presets\Duotones\Quadtones\PANTONE(R) Quadtones\ and select the file: Bl 541 513 5773.ado and hit Load then ok.
8. The picture might be really dark, I've been using Brightness/Contrast and increasing the Brightness pretty high and reducing the contrast a little.
New way to sharpen:
1. Click on Filter > Stylize > Emboss (if your doing this to the image above, make sure your doing this affect to your main image and not any adjustment layers)
2. Hit ok to the Emboss popup, the settings are fine.
3. Under the Layers box (where you edit different layers), where it says "Normal" change it to: "Hard Light"
4. To modify the degree of sharpness, just change the opacity of the layer.
