Hey there, I'm Jeswebbie! My real name is Jessica, and my username comes from a childhood nickname my brother gave me~

Okay, I did a bit more research into immortal sword, and according to a reddit thread, the version we got is pretty much kind of a demo thing, they are still working getting the full thing up and running.  It seems as if the story we have is Uther's tale, so I'm guessing it will act as a tutorial and or like Lyn's tale in FE7, where we'll see the crew come back later in the game, if they ever finish it.

Ooh, that makes a lot of sense! The "game" did seem quite brief, haha, but I do hope they plan on finishing it. So there wasn't any solid estimate of when the full game will be available?

Did a bit more research, currently one of the two developers are taking a small hiatus, while the other is doing some touching up on other things.  Its fan made, and for free, so I don't really think major releases are going to happen real kwik.  Apparently they do have a group on DA, which I guess I should check out.......

Aah, that makes sense. I'm constantly impressed by people who are able to make fangames of that quality... just being motivated by their love of the series. I'd gladly throw my money at them if they decided to charge a small fee for it (though I'm not sure that's entirely legal since its a licensed property xD)

Haha, yeah as soon as money is involved, Nintendo is crashing the party.  They really can't stand the fact that some people can do a better job at making their games  Truth telling teasing aside, the copyrights would really mess up their thing if they decided to attach a fee to it...Though truthfully, I'm not sure I would have paid to play it, even for a finished version, without knowing how good it is...

Haha, that's awesome xD I was one of those foolish people who used Titania constantly when she joined my party because she was so powerful, not realizing that in the long-run she'd end up being significantly weaker than everyone else in the party. Now I know better, so when I played Awakening and got the super-powerful paladin Frederick in the second chapter, I made sure he didn't get any of the experience points. xP You aren't fooling me anymore, FE!

Candrawjacksship In reply to jeswebbie [2016-04-27 04:16:24 +0000 UTC]

Haha, same here, I actually didn't quit using her until after the days of my mounted-only runs, which was about 5-6 playthroughs after buying the game XD  After Radiant Dawn, I generally avoid all 2nd tier units in my army nowadays, except for Por's Elincia(sometimes) and Callil and Largo(gotta have somebody support Mia, eh?) (really wish they hadn't scrapped the supports between her and Ike, I ship those two so hard)   And in Radiant dawn, where 2nd tier is practically the same as 1st tier, and 1st tier is "trainee" status, in my eyes.  Stupid Dawn Brigade!!   But besides those two games, I never use pre-promotes (except in binding blade hard mode that I'm playing, where I use the 2 promoteds to sell my shit at the shops, since they took away the base store for hard mode)

jeswebbie In reply to Candrawjacksship [2016-04-29 22:42:06 +0000 UTC]

Haha, I was pretty addicted to mounted units, too... especially pegasus and wyvern riders xD It's probably good that PoR didn't supply too many of those kinds of units because all my foot soldiers would've been kicked out instantly. Since I haven't played Radiant Dawn I had no idea that 2nd tier and 1st tier were virtually the same--it sounds like they really changed it a lot from the original in terms of gameplay and story. From what I understand, there's two parallel storylines happening in Radiant Dawn? And I've also heard it's punishingly difficult?

Candrawjacksship In reply to jeswebbie [2016-04-30 18:49:39 +0000 UTC]

Yeah...I still use Marcia and Jill, though.  They are badasses.  Hehe, that reminds me of shadow dragon, where like half your army is on a mount, but there's a ton of enemies with horse killers.

Basically, there's like 4 different "parts", each with their own chapters.  The first part deals with the Dawn Brigade, which consists mostly of the basic units from PoR, like fighter, myrmidon, archer, etc.  Which counts as "trainee" tier, in my eyes.  Pretty much they just fight in Daein after the war from PoR, with only a couple of recurring characters.  Next is the Crimean part, where you use PoR's 2nd tier units, which is 1st tier in this game, and you deal with some dissatisfied republicans nobles.  Next is part 3, most of which involves Ike waging war against Begnion, but there are a couple of chapters where you use Crimea's dudes or the Daein dudes.   The final part is where everybody teams up, and by that time, your dudes should all be promoted beyond PoR's 2nd tier.  Titania, for example, would be a gold knight instead of a paladin. (if you trained her)

As for difficulty...Its not too difficult so much as the maps are huge.  They have battle saves except in hard mode, so that eases things up a bit.  The thing is, is that you get the worst lord in the series for the Daein levels, and she is so ridiculously fragile, it isn't even funny.  Plus you have a bunch of other game over characters who are also really easily killed.  And there are crossbow dudes who are incredibly accurate and can one shot all your pegasi.
Ironically, most of part 4 is easier than part 3, because the enemy dudes lose a bunch of stats, while all your dudes should all be like OP as hell by then.

Yesss, I remember equipping Jill with a killer axe and just wiping out everyone with her. xD She was by far one of my favorite units. I was always a bit peeved by how quickly the pegasus riders could be taken down.

Jeez, that sounds way more unnecessarily complicated compared to the straightforward plot of the original PoR. I also didn't even know there was a class above paladin lol, seems like they invented the "gold knight" status specifically for that game maybe? One of the most difficult things about PoR for me was that there weren't many opportunities to level grind when you got stuck. So you just had to keep changing your strategy, even if your units were super weak, instead of being able to step back from the mission and bulk up your units for a while. Were there more level grinding opportunities in Radiant Dawn or nah?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Candrawjacksship In reply to jeswebbie [2016-05-03 05:08:28 +0000 UTC]

Jill is for sure my favorite non-lord character in the series!  Its a right shame they nerfed her in RD and took out the amazing character development she had in PoR..........

Oh, haha, its less complicated when you actually play the game  Actually, all the Paladins got reduced to single weapon units until they promote to 3rd tier.  Like, Titania/Kieren would become gold knights, and Oscar and Geoffrey would become Silver knights and gain the ability to use bows.  I forgot the gold knight second weapon, and what Makalov promotes to, cause I never use him XD

Well, there is always the bonus exp you can use in PoR.  They toned it down in RD, where bonus exp only levels up 3 stats, but the plus side is they removed that gay "no stat increase" that can happen in PoR, you always get at least 1 stat up per level up....

By the end of the game, most of my dudes have max stats, so level grinding is a little irrevelent by then..

jeswebbie In reply to Candrawjacksship [2016-05-07 01:59:34 +0000 UTC]

Was Makalov the pink-haired brother of Marcia? I never put him in my party in PoR either, just because his personality irked me so much xD
And yeah, that was unbelievably frustrating to spend the EXP to level up a unit... only to have no stat increase. -_- What's even the point?! I'm a little tempted to try out FE: Birthright or Fates, just to see how the battle system and story have developed in the last few years, but I've heard mixed things about the games so I'm a little torn. Might wait for the price to drop a little before I give it a try.

Yup, he's Marcia's brother I used to use him in my mounted only runs, but after that...Bye-bye!

I haven't picked up fates yet, either.  The spec edition nonsense nintendo pulled, along with the art style, has irked me to not make it a day one purchase.  Eventually, I want to get it off of Amazon.  Good luck waiting for the price drop, apparently Awakening is still at full price =/

Agh, that's true. It's amazing how long Nintendo games are able to stay at full price. :/ I remember I wanted to buy Mario Kart 3DS, which came out years ago, and it's still in the $40 range xD Might as well just borrow it from someone.

Candrawjacksship In reply to jeswebbie [2016-05-11 04:24:27 +0000 UTC]

I think its more of the quality Ninty games stay at full price, because I know Metroid: Other M (which sucked, badly) is now at around 5 bucks, while Radiant Dawn has doubled in price. (when I first got it in the summer of 2011, it was $35, now its 70+)  So, guessing from the hype, fates ain't gonna drop in price any time soon  So I guess if you could, just borrow the game from a friend, and if it is something that is amazing, steal it from them buy it from a perfectly legitimate retail store. Yup, mm-hm, yep.

jeswebbie In reply to Candrawjacksship [2016-05-13 00:56:17 +0000 UTC]

You know, that's pretty true. Nintendo holds on tight to franchises and consoles that bring it success but quickly dump anything that isn't instantly popular... take the Wii U, for instance. XD I really wanted to believe in that console but Nintendo abandoned it so quickly and there's already a new system coming out by next year. If I were a Wii U owner, I'd be ticked because that means there probably won't be any new games coming out for it :0

And yeah, that's a good idea. Borrowing is always a lot easier, or even just watching some playthroughs on Youtube to get an idea if the game will be enjoyable or not.

Candrawjacksship In reply to jeswebbie [2016-05-14 17:34:22 +0000 UTC]

Oh you have no idea how pissed I am about how they flopped the U.  I got that console specifically for the Zelda that was promised for 2014 release, and now is scheduled for a dual release for their new system in 2017.  Supposedly, the game is finished, but they're holding back to to give the new system a boost.  Which I can understand, but it doesn't make me less angry...
I don't think I've ever watched "let's plays" on youtube or anything of the sort.  I think I've only burrowed one game, and that was just to see how they improved the water temple in oot3d.  Which, they just made it less tedious since iron boots are now an equipable item instead of being in the gear section..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jeswebbie In reply to Candrawjacksship [2016-05-17 01:01:38 +0000 UTC]

Oh wow, I had no idea the Zelda game was originally slated for a 2014 release. That's totally lame for them to just abandon ship like that. It doesn't seem like they really tried particularly hard to get any third-party support for their system either. Honestly, there aren't any non-Nintendo produced games for the Wii U that come to mind for me.
Ahaha yeah, Water Temple is still as infuriating as ever even in the updated version x-x All the stupid keys and changing the water levels and ergh. For whatever reason I've also found the Shadow Temple to be equally as tedious, though most people don't regard the Shadow Temple as being particularly challenging. For me, the hover boots were too damn slippery and I'd end up falling off cliffs all the damn time. xD

Candrawjacksship In reply to jeswebbie [2016-05-19 01:06:01 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, the director was like, "We want this out in 3 years, or less!"  And then.... Delayed.  Delayed. Delayed.
That may be,  but also Nintendo's current set up is kinda hostile to third party devs.  Aside from having lower graphical power, apparently the U's hardware is also so....weird... that 3rdies aren't to interested in trying to adapt to it.  Among other things that I don't quite understand, since I haven't investigated the inner workings of machines
As for third party games, the list is short, but I thought ZombiU, Deus ex human revolution and Batman Arkham City were all really fun to play on the U.
Hmm...I actually kinda like the water temple, I think more dungeons should be as confusing as that one.  I don't think the shadow temple was that challenging, since its pretty straight forward after the first half, but I always have a hard time with the bottom of the well...Speaking of shadows, I loved the hell out of this remix of Nocturne of Shadow back in 2012 - www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7UGA-…

Anyways, what are your favorite temples in OoT?  Mine are the forest temple and spirit temple, the mechanics in those are still pretty cool!

Good lord. xD Development times for games are a nightmare these days. It might also just be the companies' fault for announcing the games so early before they're anywhere near completion. Square Enix is infamous for this... Final Fantasy XV was announced 10 years ago and it's finally coming out this year x-x Hopefully. If it's not delayed... LOL
Yeah, that's true. I mean, the DS worked well with two screens since it was handheld, but having two screens for a console system... idk, just didn't make much sense from the get-go. It's a shame because I'm sure there are some creative minds out there that could've made some truly innovative and fun games for the Wii U, but it doesn't seem like they'll have the opportunity to redeem the system.

That Nocturne of Shadow remix is freaking awesome! I really love all the songs to teleport to the different temples, especially Bolero of Fire and Minuet of the Forest. And yeah, the Forest Temple is definitely one of my favorites too~ I really love how the whole area was set up and the boss battle with Phantom Ganon was freaking awesome. Spirit Temple is also great and the final boss with the twin sisters is definitely one of the best fights in Zelda history.

Oh my goodness, 10 years?  Hope its worth it! XD
Yeah...Well hopefully the new console won't be a bust.  But it sounds like they learned something from the u and are now developing games for the NX, so that it actually has something to play.  (I was interested in Splatoon, but I heard it was released half baked, and they had to patch in new stuff...>.>)
I could never find a good bolero of fire remix, besides the Lindsay Sterling one. (Granted, I haven't searched for any since 2012 or so...)
I just finished the spirit temple on the master quest, and that was also legit!

I hope so too! Honestly if Final Fantasy XV flops, it'll be quite a blow for Square Enix. I can't imagine how much money and resources they've poured into this one game for the last decade, so it better be a damn good payoff.

Oooh yeah, Lindsey Stirling made such an amazing Zelda compilation~ I still watch it occassionally and every time I'm just blown away by how beautiful the music is @_@
Also if you haven't seen the Zelda fan animation "Race for Rupees," it's pretty funny and awesome (and super high quality for a fan production): www.youtube.com/watch?v=it2sk2…

Wait, I thought they released a new final fantasy like a year or two ago, making a big deal of the lightening chick...?
Anyhow, I feel kind of the same way about the new Zelda, if it flops, that's probably going to be the end of me following the series =/  Gameplay wise, Skyward Sword did not age well, and I'm a little tired of a lot of the hand holding that feels so prevalent in the console games post Majora's Mask.

Haha, yeah my friend showed me that video a few months ago.  There needs to be DA emojis from some of the scenes in that video XD  and I wish they'd use the Hyrule Warriors graphical style for a legitimate entry in the series =/

jeswebbie In reply to Candrawjacksship [2016-06-10 07:04:58 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, so for Final Fantasy 13, they made a couple spin-off games that were slightly-less-shitty versions of the original. Most people were pretty pissed about all the games revolving around Lightning because no one really wanted them at all. So, Final Fantasy 15 is a pretty big deal because it's the next "official" game in the series that will finally focus on new characters.
Yeah, I get that Nintendo is trying to keep Zelda fresh and relevant with games like Hyrule Warriors and making it into an MMO but I'm worried it will just stray too far from the original formula that makes Zelda so great in the first place. With E3 coming up in just a few days, hopefully Nintendo will use it as an opportunity to redeem itself.

Yeah, they really need to utilize the Hyrule Warriors style more. Did you hear that Netflix is supposedly making a live-action Zelda series?

Ah gotcha   But that is the plot twist, FFXV will just be a remake of FFI....  hehehehehehe
e3 is only a couple of days away, and as much as don't want to admit it...I'm really hyped to finally see the new Zelda.

Yeah, haha, that was really old news.  But Nintendo was like "No way".  And now Nintendo is looking to make movies for its games. Personally, I want to see a new super mario movie
But seriously, I might watch a Fire Emblem Anime, if they made that.  But I feel Zelda would be better off as a CGI movie, not live action.  And we already have a Metroid Movie
