– Więc niechaj twoi bogowie mają cię w opiece, dobry przyjacielu! – odparł ze szczerzą ulgą starzec.
– Nie mam bogów. Sam sobie jestem bogiem. Przyjacielem też nie jestem, raczej towarzyszem w losie.. – wyszeptał człowiek myśląc, że ranny Góral nie dosłyszy.
– Dobre! A bądź sobie kim chcesz przyjacielu, choć mieć boga przed sobą to nawet dla królów niewykonalne. – rozweselił się na dobre Hadhri a śmiech jego echem wpadł do reszty okrytych ciemnościami komnat. – Oto zaszczyt wielki spotkał mnie maluczkiego, którego zwą Długim Sznurem, bo oto z mocarzem Niebios spędzam miłe chwile czekając śmierci błogosławionej! – dokończył z ironią leżący, gubiąc uśmiech gdzieś w myślach skrytych swego serca."
