Well I finally did it. we went out bought a Pathfinder Core Rule book some dice and sat around the kitchen table with the kids (9yo and 11yo) and taught them to how to do some table top gaming. I though of you because we talk about not having any one to roll play with.

I almost lost their attention trying to create characters for 2hours but once that was done it was a ton of fun. We winged it for the most part I have never played that system before and was not sure about all the rules and skill checks. Over all I would say it was a success.

Yeah i can see how that can be tedious for someone that age. Nice! What setting did you use and what classes/races did your kids pick? Sorry for the questions. I think it's really neat.

Let see, the oldest went with Fighter human, the youngest is a druid half elf and my wife decided on a Gnome druid. my wife has sat and watched games before but other than that non of them have ever played before. It is taking a little work to get a good game flow going but I have faith. we will see what happens next weekend.
