Oh, but I have written more poetry... I still have to decide if I want everyone to see it...
I'm still quite unsure of myself as a poet... I have no fear in submitting a drawing... it tells far less about me... that isn't to say that telling more is bad... it's just easier to be misunderstood...
...not to mention, I never paid attention when teachers tried to teach us about poetry... Anything I write is completely made up... no real structure...my rhythm is awkward, if at all in existence... Most of what I've learned about poetry, I've gotten from reading others' poetry... I've read more poems from you than any other... meh.

I didn't read, or like, anyone else's poetry (with the exception of ee cummings & ~amyfae ) until I was in college. Everything I wrote came from things I made up. *grin* So I've been there.
When you're an artist you always run the risk of being misunderstood, and that's ok. Have a little faith in yourself.

To be honest, I have no intention of shortening it, though I might take ~ amyfae 's advice & rework that last stanza (which was the most difficult).
I think that this type of poetry, story poetry, is more approachable than somewhat more abstracted stuff. I'm glad you enjoyed the read.
Oh, and I am releasing my guilt.
