I use an Olympus c8080. It's one of those "prosumer" cameras. Not SLR, but not a "point&shoot" either. A fully manual camera with a good lense. I like Olympus.
Nearly all my shots have gone through som careful editing with Gimp . Like adjusting the black/white levels, some sharpening, etc.
