Hi keibeaux, I just bought a canon xsi camera, so I hope it is a new stage as an amateur photographer since I always take photos one soni handycam, not Ontur or basic concepts and seeing your gallery I would like to receive a lot your advice.

I started to learn photography on a little Canon powershot camera and my first DSLR was an XSi. It took me some time to fully understand the fundamentals of photography on it, but if you just sit yourself down with a self-teaching book, you can literally learn in one night. Then, you just have to practice. And if you do that, you improve every single day until you've mastered that piece of equipment. The XSi really is great. I just got a Canon 5D Mark II as an upgrade (after three years), and again, the XSi is amazing as well.
We will definitely keep in touch and if you have any specific advice, just note me!

Noooo, your camera is NOT too old at all. Mine was old to ME. I needed an upgrade for my work with clients and such. I felt I wanted to take my equipment to another level.
As far as buying new lenses for your XSi, I highly suggest that your next choice be the Canon 50mm f/1.8
