Well, MS Paint is actually really good for starters- I suggest it for beginners, what tool do you use? a tablet/mouse/etc?

I suggest paint then, more advanced programs require a tablet (if you are interested in getting a tablet- I suggest looking at Wacom tablets if you have a small budget) tablets let you use really good programs like Photoshop or Paint Tool Sai.

Gimp 2.8 is an advanced program for a mouse, so you're not only limited to paint.

There are many tutorials online for Paint and Gimp too :) (Smile)
