I mentally divide all the stuff going on into short periods, so I currently take each day at a time.
I'm gonna take the period between Christmas and New Year totally free, even if there's stuff to be done in January.

hey what's up?
I looked at some tutorials and I'm working on coloring the haruhi pic as well. Turning out pretty well. The eyes are a little iffy tho :/

The eyes can be very tricky to say the least. What I normally do is use the Burn tool set to midtones on a fairly lot tolerance and use it to make a 'gradient' effect in the eyes, so the darkest point is at the top, and the lighter points are at the bottom of the eye. The burn tool is really good for doing this I find. After that, I use the smudge tool to drag parts of the darker bit of the eye downwards to make an 'arch' shape out of the lighter points of the eye.
Once you've done that, use the dodge tool set to highlights on a low tolerance to lighten the center of the arch in the eye till I'm happy with it, then use the blur tool to carefully blend the different tones together.
To finish it off, make a new layer, and apply the shine of the eye to the appropriate places and fade them out using the blur tool.
Oh one more thing, when you come to the blending part of the pic, use the 'lock transparent pixels' function on the layer pallete to stop your smudges and blurs from running out of their origonal shape too much ^_^
