Woah! I commented on your stuff 3 weeks ago? Time goes too fast! Anyway I just bought the DA bag, figured that it'll be handy to have one with a waterproof cover for those somewhat worrying clouds and I'll probably sell my Lowepro Atlus 160 since I've already got a better incognito small bag. And with the DA bag it'd be good if I ever get a 3rd lens, plus its got a lot of nice pockets. Atm everything feels like its jammed into a couple of pockets with no specific motive Had a look at the Lowepro Classified Slingshot range for $110 but I found that DA nailed the layout system. Heard the new version has more padding too
I just hope its comfortable enough, I'm skinny so I can't use rolls of fat as additional padding, lol

Just curious, was your review for the DA camera bag for the old or the newer bag model that's now out?

You know, I think mine is the old model. I bought it in the beginning of the year (or end of last year, I'm not exactly sure). My memory sucks.
But apparently the new model is bigger, right? I hope so, because this one I have is really small (the problem is mostly the zipper part, where you get the camera and lenses and everything through. that's way too tight for a D90 or any other bigger camera).

I'd say yours is the old model, I've been checking up on the bag lately in the past few months and only just noticed the new model. I'm using a Pentax K-X which is a small-ish sort of camera, I've already got 2 camera bags atm.
One is a Lowepro camcorder bag which is fine & has enough room but I found out its a bit like carrying around a bulky lunchbox, its not a backpack, more like a men's purse with the way it hangs on your shoulder.
The other one I bought soon afterwards because it didn't have that "hey, steal me! I have an expensive camera inside!" look and from the photos it looked comfortable but its not really as the strap lacks padding and once again, its another small-ish camera bag which likes to move around. Since I've got a tripod too I was looking for something a bit more practical
Its a shame that DA never has a sale on these bags yet put their other gimmicky stuff on sale because the rest is crap (haha) and that there's only one expensive shipping option. AU$110 in total does seem a bit too much, I only spent $20 on the Lowepro and $50 on the other one. The weather proof cover would be a godsend though as I get very panicky when electronic equipment + water are combined, lol! Mind you, since its been so dry as I mentioned before its not a priority and I don't own anymore than the twin lens & some filters.
Tbh I'm more of a casual shooter because I rarely feel creative unless I'm in the city & then when I'm in the city I feel like I'll get robbed So unless I travel overseas I don't think I require it yet just want it <_< *steals your bag* lol
Sorry for the essay long msg! Didn't mean to

Yeah, the shipping costs sometimes don't make the whole purchase worth it anymore... I had doubts about it too, when I got mine.
To be honest, I think there are far better bags out there, cheaper and easier to get. But this one does look extremely cool, it has a tripod holder (although it's for pretty small tripods, not enough for me) and that awesome silver bag thingie for snow and rain. I haven't tried that extra bag yet, though.
Oh and another thing that I find pretty annoying with this bag is the strap. One strap is just a big no-no for me. Never again. Even though it is nicely padded.

Could you take some high-res shots of the bag? Both interior & exterior with stuff in it? I've tried looking for them but its hard to tell what its actually like And I love my large high res photos so I can see every speck of detail

Sorry, can't do it. My camera was sent to be repaired () and I'm also pretty busy right now. But I'm sure you can find pictures that show details of the camera somewhere here on dA.

But you're the only one who I can count on to take decent photos! lol
What happened to your camera? Broken lens or something? Hopefully mine never gets broken. It should stay in perfect condition if I don't use it! haha

haha thank you
I never ever ever eeeever broke anything in my entire life (anything worth this much, at least) and then now, right when I move to another country and have enough stress for a long time, my baby breaks... I'm not exactly sure but I think it broke while I was trying to get it off of the stupid dA bag, I was carrying a bunch of stuff, in the middle of the snow, trying to be as fast as I could to get the shot I wanted, and the camera was getting stuck on the stupid small bag... I saw that the internal flash got a bit stuck, but didn't think it was bad, just thought it popped out. Then I come home to find that a piece underneath the flash was missing (the part where it says Nikon. a good chunk of it was broken, but I found the missing piece in my bag)... I was happy to see that the camera still worked, though. But it just can't stay like that, not isolated from the cold and snow and dust and all that crap...
So yeah, that's what happened. Now it's in a shop to be repaired, and they gotta call me to tell me how much it'll cost (I'm hoping it won't be too bad!!!)... I have no idea how fucking long this is gonna take... it's Switzerland, they don't do things fast here All the other things that are stressing me right now seem too little... my camera being broken is the worst thing to me...
Ha. This time, I wrote a lot

Always seems to be the careful people like us where things always seem to break Like my japanese white PS3, I never used it for long gaming sessions, it never travelled, I read it bedtime stories and then one day it just stops working! It wasn't even 2 years old. And then of course I lost all my save files because of Sony's retarded automatic reformat when putting one HDD into another machine so I lost 100s of hours of hard work
Meanwhile, the physically abusive people who don't care how they treat anything always get the longest run out of their machines until they literally start smashing it with a hammer or ditching it out of a moving car onto peak hour traffic
I know what you mean too about stuff that gets broken and it still sort of works but seeing a huge chip on it makes you want to repair it, no matter what the costs. Sometimes the repair costs are almost as much as what you originally paid for it which makes no sense
Hope your baby returns to you soon !

That's one reason why I want it, it looks pretty cool How big is the tripod you're trying to fit into it? Mine's 1.35m tall but its a travel sized tripod which folds down to about...20-25cm I think. Pretty lightweight too, when extended you can easily lift it with one finger You should fly over here so you can show me the bag so I can make a better decision on it
karolkorn: "But for that price I could buy 4 new cameras!"
Yeah I don't think I'm a fan of one strap bags either, however the ones I bought hug around the waist rather than the middle back area. I've only got about 1kg worth of stuff too so its not like I'd really need 2 straps. Hmmm.....wish I could get it as an xmas present or something but nobody I know is that generous
